As a Director on the Accounting Team, you will help in-house Technical Accounting sophistication and scale the Company’s Financial Reporting capabilities. This is an excellent opportunity to both build and execute on behalf of a growing IPP, while growing professionally within a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the preparation of Quarterly and Annual Financial Statements, both consolidated and project-level
  • Both manage outside consultants and prepare in-house analysis for various Technical Accounting topics, including (but not limited to) leases, revenue recognition, M&A transactions, financings, HLBV accounting, VIE analysis, and capitalization.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in the ongoing evolution of key accounting systems, especially around Consolidation topics
  • Manage several project-level annual audits as required
  • Serve as an interface between the Company and investors/lenders as it relates to financial reporting requirements and compliance
  • Maintain knowledge of changing requirements under GAAP and implement these changes to the company’s accounting policies
  • Enhance existing accounting control processes and assist in the creation of new controls as the Company continues growing
  • Support the Capital Markets, Development, Commercial, and Operations functions in understanding accounting implications of contract or financial structures
  • Work on special projects as necessary, including (but not limited to) HLBV accounting implementation, purchase accounting, and ITC accounting.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • 7-10 years of progressive audit, financial reporting, or technical accounting experience required
  • CPA designation required, with preference for candidates with Big 4 or national accounting firm experience
  • Qualified candidates will have experience in Renewable Energy, Traditional Power, or Infrastructure development, with some experience with renewable energy financing structures.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organization abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple complex processes or long-term projects simultaneously
  • Experience managing and developing employees is preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience presenting to management or external capital providers
  • Experience with Sage Intacct considered a positive for candidates
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

Compensation and Benefits

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time. Ability to work in the United States is a requirement.

Salary: Competitive base salary commensurate with experience

Bonus:  Competitive bonus based on performance
