Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Technical Sourcing Director with hands-on manufacturing or process development experience to join our dynamic, fast-paced Sourcing team. This leader will own supplier performance, cost optimization, and risk mitigation across e.l.f. beauty’s multi-brand portfolio, with a primary focus on building and running a rigorous supplier governance system (scorecards, business reviews, and corrective action plans). The Director will partner closely with Sourcing, Product Development, R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Marketing, Operations, and Legal to align supplier capabilities to the innovation pipeline while safeguarding supply continuity, quality, and speed-to-market.
Success requires someone who can challenge the status quo, push partners to operate at our speed and cost, and build systems that scale as we expand into new categories and geographies.
Responsibilities:
- Supplier Performance: Own supplier scorecards and Key Performance Indicators; establish and run Quarterly Business Reviews; drive continuous improvement plans; serve as escalation point for performance; lead cross-functional root cause analysis and recovery plans.
- Cost Optimization: Lead structured savings roadmaps across packaging, raw materials, and conversion without compromising quality or speed. Drive technical cost initiatives (tech transfers, dual-sourcing, material value engineering, pack optimization, order quantities, waste reduction).
- Governance and Compliance: Own commercial contract development and renewal, including pricing mechanisms, rebates, service levels, formula ownership, supply security, and business continuity terms. Support internal reporting and documentation needs (e.g., SOX controls, Code of Conduct, Responsible Sourcing, and audit readiness) in partnership with Legal, Ethics & Compliance, and Finance.
- Multi-Brand Capacity Planning: Mapping current and future demand to supplier capabilities and constraints; building a rolling monthly capacity plan that informs award decisions, tech transfers, and investment roadmaps; establish scalable manufacturing models.
- Commercial Enablement: Partner with Finance, Product Development, R&D, Quality, and Sourcing to implement should-cost models that quantify materials, conversion, yield, and logistics, enabling fact-based negotiations, value engineering, and portfolio optimization.
Requirements:
- BA or BS required
- 10+ years of experience within Sourcing, Supplier Management, or Procurement, including 5+ years hands-on manufacturing/process development experience, ideally within the beauty industry, with the ability to translate manufacturing realities into commercial and sourcing decisions.
- Strong leadership and people management with a track record of building teams.
- Demonstrated experience building or maturing supplier governance systems

- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on cross-functional problem solving
- Must be team-oriented, responsive, comfortable collaborating and decision making across internal and external teams globally

- Must have a mindset towards continuous improvement across new product development processes and supplier management
