Location requirements:
Remote based role. Open to candidates in BayArea, CA & NY

About the Role:
BigPanda is at an inflection point: we’ve built the market-leading AIOps event management platform and are now evolving into an Agentic IT Operations platform where AI doesn’t just surface insights — it detects, investigates, prevents, and resolves incidents autonomously. This shift fundamentally changes how enterprise software should be designed and raises new questions about trust in AI systems, shared control between humans and agents, and interfaces that evolve as AI learns. We’re looking for a Director, UX Design to define what AI-native UX means at BigPanda, starting as our first design hire and UX leader, setting the craft standards, experience architecture, and design philosophy for a multi-product platform used by enterprise IT teams worldwide, and then, as needed, building the team that will scale this vision.

What you will do:
  • Define AI-native UX principles and interaction models for an agentic, AI platform
  • Lead the design process user-centered conceptual models and prototypes while collaborating closely with Engineering, PMs.
  • Own the end-to-end user experience across BigPanda’s products and core platform capabilities for key ITOps personas
  • Create and evolve a scalable design system that supports both human-crafted and AI-generated interfaces across products
  • Use rapid prototyping, user research, behavioral data, and AI-assisted design tools to shape product strategy and roadmap
  • Operate as a player-coach, in a high-velocity environment,  building design operations foundations while hiring, mentoring, and leading a growing UX team.

What skills and experience you’ll bring to BigPanda:
  • 8+ years in UX / Product Design with experience leading design for complex B2B SaaS platforms
  • Proven track record designing AI-powered or agentic systems and workflows
  • Experience owning cross-product design systems and interaction patterns at scale
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, interaction design, and measurable product impact
  • Ability to influence product strategy and executive decision-making across Product and Engineering
  • Comfortable operating as a player-coach in early-stage or small design organizations
  • Experience designing for operational or technical users in areas such as ITOps, DevOps, observability, security, or ITSM
  • Strong perspective on AI-native design and human–AI collaboration, including familiarity with modern AI-assisted design and research tools
