The Vertical Market Director is the strategic owner and overall leader of the State & Local Government market at Convergint. This role defines and drives the vertical vision, strategy, and long-term growth plan, aligning internal teams and external partners to deliver differentiated customer outcomes and sustained revenue growth.

As the senior leader for the market, the Director sets priorities, allocates focus, and leads a team of Vertical Market Managers and Subject Matter Experts who execute and operationalize the strategy across Convergint Technology Centers (CTCs). The role serves as the executive voice of the Public Safety vertical, internally and externally, while consistently modeling Convergint’s Values and Beliefs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own and define the State & Local Government market strategy, including target sub-verticals, customer segments, solution focus, and partner ecosystem.
  • Develop multi-year roadmaps aligned to Convergint’s growth objectives and investment priorities
  • Lead, coach, and develop Vertical Market Managers; establish operating rhythms and performance expectations.
  • Act as the senior leader and subject matter authority for the Public Safety vertical with customers, partners, and industry associations.
  • Align Sales, Service Operations, Enablement, Marketing, Finance, and CTC leadership around the Public Safety vertical strategy.
  • Guide differentiated solution and bundle development that addresses critical customer outcomes.
  • Support high-impact, complex opportunities through executive-level engagement and strategic deal guidance.
  • Define and track vertical-level KPIs including revenue growth, margin, pipeline health, wallet share, and market expansion.
  • Provide regular executive updates on vertical performance, risks, and opportunities.

Qualifications

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Business, technology, engineering, or vertically relevant field preferred.
Experience:
• 10+ years in technology, security, or vertically aligned industries.
• 5+ years in senior leadership roles with responsibility for strategy, revenue growth, and people leadership.
• Proven success building and scaling Public Safety market strategies across distributed sales organizations.


Scope and Impact

This national leadership role supports U.S.-based CTCs and vertical sales teams. The Vertical Market Director directly influences strategic direction, investment decisions, and execution across the organization, with measurable impact on $50M–$250M+ in annual vertical revenue, market positioning, and long-term growth.


Work Environment

Remote role with up to 50% travel, including in-person enablement sessions, client events, strategic meetings, and national industry forums. Regular virtual attendance in team meetings, vertical leadership calls, and regional planning sessions is expected.

This position is expected to remain open until 7/25/26.


The expected compensation range for this position is between $165,000-200,000, depending on experience.
