About this Opportunity:

As a Director, Wealth Product Strategy, you will define the vision, roadmap, and business priorities for Orion’s wealth product offering, including proprietary and third-party solutions. This role serves as a key member of the Wealth Management Product and Platform team and focuses on identifying what Orion should build, why it matters, and how it can create differentiated advisor value, revenue growth, and scalable platform economics.

The Director leads product strategy efforts across ideation, market research, competitive intelligence, business case development, pricing strategy, positioning, and implementation design. Investment products and solutions may span all asset classes, goal orientations, vehicle structures, and platform delivery models. This role partners closely with product management, investment, distribution, operations, technology, legal/compliance, and marketing teams to translate strategic priorities into actionable initiatives that strengthen Orion’s competitive position and advisor adoption.

The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, highly analytical, commercially minded, and able to connect advisor needs, market trends, product economics, and platform capabilities into a clear strategic agenda. This role requires the ability to develop compelling business cases, influence senior stakeholders, and shape product decisions that drive growth, differentiation, and long-term value creation. As we continue to evolve and live our Orion values, we are looking for someone to grow with us.

It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work as a Hybrid employee, with three (3) or more days each week required on-site at one of the listed office locations.

Candidates should be located within a commutable distance to an office. Internal candidates currently aligned to an Orion office location may be given preference; however, internal candidates with varying work arrangements may be considered based on experience and business needs. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.

In this role, you'll get to:
  • Define and maintain a forward-looking investment product strategy and roadmap aligned with advisor needs, market trends, competitive gaps, and Orion’s growth priorities

  • Identify and evaluate new product and service opportunities across investment strategies, investment services, wealth solutions, and platform-delivered capabilities

  • Develop business cases supported by market opportunity sizing, competitive research, advisor demand analysis, pricing strategy, revenue modeling, profitability assessment, and implementation considerations

  • Build competitive intelligence across TAMPs, broker-dealers, RIAs, asset managers, and wealth platforms to inform product positioning, pricing, and differentiation

  • Shape product positioning, packaging, pricing, and go-to-market design in partnership with sales, marketing, product management, and distribution teams

  • Partner with product management and cross-functional teams to translate strategy into clear requirements, launch priorities, success metrics, and ongoing product governance

  • Prepare executive-level recommendations and decision materials for high-priority product initiatives, including new product development, product rationalization, pricing optimization, and partnership opportunities

We're looking for talent who:
  • Has strong strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize market data, advisor feedback, competitive insights, and financial analysis into actionable recommendations

  • Has advanced financial modeling, market sizing, pricing analysis, and business case development skills; strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required, and AI proficiency encouraged

  • Has deep understanding of financial services, investment products, wealth management platforms, advisor business models, and distribution dynamics

  • Has proven ability to conduct competitive market research, define product strategy, assess pricing strategy, develop product positioning, and evaluate commercial opportunities

  • Influences senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders, drive alignment, and communicate complex ideas clearly through executive-ready materials

  • Is comfortable operating in ambiguity, prioritizing opportunities, and balancing strategic vision with practical implementation considerations

  • Is collaborative, commercially oriented, intellectually curious, and biased toward action in a fast-paced, evolving environment

  • Has a minimum of a bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CFA preferred

  • Has a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in product strategy, corporate strategy, investment product development, strategic finance, consulting, asset management, wealth management, broker-dealer, TAMP, or RIA environments preferred

  • Has experience building product roadmaps, business cases, pricing analyses, competitive assessments, and executive-level recommendations for investment or wealth management solutions strongly preferred

  • Owns and manages relationships with stakeholders directly and works effectively with people at all levels in an organization
