Distributor Connectivity & Onboarding Manager

Owning the technical path that gets distributors sending complete, clean sales-trace data

Reports to: Vice President of Data & Integration     Location: Nashville, TN      Type: Full-time

About the role

NDC's data products — CORE (manufacturer rebate processing), NuEdge, and the upcoming Market Insights — all run on distributor sales-trace data. Our inside sales team already owns the commercial push to grow tracings. What we're missing is the dedicated technical owner who makes getting connected and sending that data effortless — the person a distributor's IT team works with to stand up a feed and keep it flowing clean and complete.

Today that gap is real: EDI onboarding has no dedicated project management, our QuickConnectors don't cover every ERP, and we've historically required a rigid file format that created friction. We are also building FusionPoint, an in-house tool that lets us accept distributor tracings in almost any format — and it needs an owner. This role takes all of that end to end: connectivity onboarding, EDI project management, and flexible data intake.

What success looks like

  • Distributors get connected quickly and stay connected, with complete tracings flowing automatically and reliably.
  • EDI onboarding runs as a managed project — clear steps, owners, and timelines — instead of stalling for lack of technical ownership.
  • File-format friction is largely gone: we accept tracings close to as-is through FusionPoint, and data-loading turnaround improves.
  • Measurable growth in the volume and completeness of tracings we receive, directly supporting the company's tracings-growth goals across CORE, NuEdge, and Market Insights.

What you'll do

Connectivity onboarding

  • Own distributor connectivity onboarding across every method: QuickConnectors (our prebuilt ERP connectors), EDI, FusionPoint intake, and API / flat-file (SFTP).
  • Scope each distributor's ERP and IT environment and stand up the right connection with minimal lift on their side — read-only, low-touch, days rather than months to first feed.
  • Drive QuickConnector adoption and work with Product and Engineering to expand platform coverage and make the connectors genuinely dead-simple to install.

EDI project management

  • Be the dedicated project manager distributors have been missing: plan, sequence, and shepherd each EDI implementation from kickoff to production.
  • Manage the technical mapping, testing, and validation of EDI transactions (e.g., 867 product transfer / resale) , coordinating the distributor's IT / EDI team and ours (including VAN or integration-platform setup).
  • Maintain the onboarding pipeline with owner, next steps, aging, and a clear escalation path.

Flexible data intake & FusionPoint

  • Configure, test, and operate FusionPoint against real distributor file examples, then move it into the production rebate-cycle workflow so we can accept a much wider range of formats.
  • Reduce file-format friction so distributors can send data close to as-is, and partner with CORE Ops to relieve data-loading and turnaround bottlenecks.
  • Monitor data quality, mapping, and completeness, and run the technical side of rebate-cycle missing-tracings tracking and recovery.

Security & data governance (technical)

  • Own the technical trust story — encryption in transit and at rest, scoped read-only access, and audit logging — so a distributor's IT and compliance teams can sign off quickly.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Security on data-handling standards and the aggregation / blinding that protects customer-level data and keeps shared data safe.

Cross-functional

  • Work alongside the inside sales team (who own the distributor relationships and growth targets), CORE Ops, and CORE Leaders — you're the technical enabler that turns their pipeline into live, clean feeds.
  • Report progress into the monthly cadence: connectivity and FusionPoint / EDI deployment, data-loading capacity, missing-tracings recovery, and Market Insights launch readiness tied to distributor participation.
Qualifications

What we're looking for

  • Data-integration background — hands-on experience with EDI (X12; e.g., 867 / 852), ERP systems, SFTP / flat-file exchange, APIs, and data mapping and transformation.
  • Technical project management — a track record running technical integration projects with external partners' IT teams, keeping them on schedule and driving them to done.
  • Data fluency — SQL and enough scripting / data sense to diagnose completeness, mapping, and quality issues yourself rather than waiting on someone else.
  • Tooling comfort — able to configure and operate data-intake tooling; comfortable with modern, AI-assisted data tools a plus.
  • Security-minded — conversant in data handling, access controls, encryption, and able to work through them with a customer's IT and compliance teams.
  • A clear communicator who can translate between distributor IT teams and internal ops — organized, methodical, and comfortable owning throughput as a number.

Nice to have

  • Healthcare or pharmaceutical distribution experience and familiarity with chargeback, tracing, and rebate workflows.
  • EDI VAN or integration-platform experience, and ERP-specific connector or interface work.
  • Experience standing up or scaling a data-onboarding or connectivity function.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
