Job Description

Join the legal frontline and champion the defense for both the insured and the Company! As an early career Trial Attorney, you'll handle , no fault, bodily injury, property damage lawsuits, and more, with thrilling trials, arbitrations, and mediations. Beyond the courtroom, you'll provide vital counsel to business clients and coordinate between legal teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from case inception to verdict, including initial case assessment, discovery, depositions, motion practice, pre-trial negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial motions to ensure favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for cases, including preparation for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
  • Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents; prepare summaries and reports.
  • Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
  • Interview clients and witnesses, as well as drafting summaries of their statements and maintaining communication records.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings to observe and assist as needed; may represent the company or clients in routine matters.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations, and assist in updating the legal team on potential impacts to ongoing cases.
  • Participate in training sessions and mentorship programs to develop legal skills and gain exposure to more complex legal work.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the California State Bar

Minimum Requirements

  • Successful completion of courses focused on legal research, writing, and analysis, demonstrating the ability to conduct thorough legal research and draft clear, well-structured legal documents.
  • Demonstrates strong time management skills, effectively balancing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Capable of organizing case files, managing legal documents, and understanding the discovery process.
  • Skilled in communicating with clients, preparing summaries, and maintaining records of interactions.
  • Well-versed in legal ethics and the standards of professional conduct.
  • Equipped with fundamental negotiation techniques and strategies for client interactions and settlement discussions.
  • Must be commutable distance to courthouses throughout Fresno County, California

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $105,000 - 130,000 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
