ECOMMERCE OPERATIONS MANAGER

ABOUT FISHWIFE

Fishwife is a woman-founded and led food company aiming to make ethically-sourced, premium, and delicious tinned seafood a staple in every cupboard. We source from responsibly managed fisheries and aquaculture farms to bring the vibrance of conservas culture to the North American table. We launched in December 2020 and have been feature by publications like The New York Times, Bon Appetit, Forbes, Vogue, LA Times, INSIDER, and many more.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Fishwife's e-commerce business, across Shopify and Amazon, is one of our fastest-growing channels and one of the most operationally complex. Every month brings new launches, gift sets, bundles, and non-fish items, and each one depends on an accurate listing, a reliable forecast, and inventory that lands on time. The Ecommerce Operations Manager owns that engine end to end: you will turn Marketing's revenue goals into a SKU-level demand plan, keep our Shopify and Amazon catalogs accurate, and run the launch process that takes every new item from idea to ready-to-ship on schedule.

This is a manager-level role for a strategic operator who is as comfortable building a forecast as driving a cross-functional launch plan. You will be the bridge between Marketing and Operations, bringing the planning and operations experience that turns marketing plans into executable supply plans and holding partners on both teams to their dates. You'll work daily with Growth, Brand, Procurement, Demand Planning, and the broader Operations team.

This role reports to the Head of Marketing, with a dotted line to Operations. It is an individual-contributor role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ecommerce demand planning and S&OP

  • Own the D2C and Amazon demand plan: translate Marketing's monthly revenue goals and media plans into a SKU-level unit forecast, including component demand for bundles and kits
  • Own forecast accuracy, and run the monthly ecommerce S&OP retro: compare actuals to plan, diagnose the variances, and fix the method behind them
  • Deliver the ecommerce forecast to the Demand Planning Manager as the D2C input to the company's omnichannel demand plan
  • Flag demand shifts early (promotions, virality, softening trends) so Operations can react before supply is at risk

Platform and catalog management

  • Own product and variant setup in Shopify, including bundles and gift sets, so every listing is accurate, live on time, and tied to the right SKU
  • Build and manage Fishwife's Amazon catalog in Seller Central, keeping listings, ASINs, and SKU mappings accurate as the portfolio grows
  • Partner with Operations, who create SKU codes in our ERP, to keep Shopify, Amazon, Cin7, and our 3PL aligned
  • Keep data clean and trustworthy across Shopify, Amazon, the ERP, and their integrations

Launch and project management

  • Own the ecommerce launch process for every new item, including non-fish products: map each step, set the timeline, assign owners, and hold every team to its deadlines
  • Plan new items end to end across D2C and Amazon, including compositions, component and packaging requirements, kitting requests, and item setup
  • Own merch and packaging demand and timelines, giving Procurement the quantities and need-by dates it needs to place orders and keep items from running out
  • Enter and track kitting work orders with our 3PL, and confirm inventory lands ahead of every launch date

Inventory health and allocation

  • Keep bundles and kits in stock, and reconfigure them when a component is at risk
  • When an item is at risk of a stockout or goes out of stock, work with Operations to identify substitutes and plan the transition across listings, bundles, and marketing
  • Protect wholesale inventory by managing D2C on-site availability, and represent ecommerce in the weekly inventory allocation call

Reporting, systems, and cadence

  • Build and own D2C and Amazon dashboards covering forecast versus actuals, inventory health, and launch readiness, giving leadership a clear view of performance over time
  • Maintain the e-commerce and martech tool register and renewal calendar, and bring renew-or-cut recommendations to leadership
  • Run the operating cadence for the marketing team, including agendas, decisions, and action tracking across standing meetings, so commitments turn into results
  • Automate recurring manual work wherever possible

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4 to 6 years in e-commerce operations, demand planning, or supply planning, ideally at a CPG or DTC brand, with hands-on operations or planning experience in at least one prior role
  • A strategic thinker who sets priorities, anticipates downstream effects, and can explain the reasoning behind a plan to both Marketing and Operations
  • An experienced forecaster who has turned marketing plans into SKU-level demand and measured accuracy against actuals
  • A proven project manager who has run cross-functional launches and keeps many threads moving without dropping details
  • Hands-on with Shopify product setup; Amazon Seller Central catalog management strongly preferred
  • Fluent with inventory concepts: availability, allocation, safety stock, kitting, and BOMs
  • Spreadsheet-fluent and comfortable building a model from scratch; ERP experience a plus (Cin7 preferred)
  • Detail-oriented, with a habit of automating anything done manually more than twice
  • Energized by being the connective tissue between Marketing and Operations in a fast-moving, high-growth environment

KEY TOOLS & SYSTEMS

Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, Cin7 (ERP), Modus, WMS / 3PL portal, SPS Commerce (EDI), Notion, Google Sheets
