Yahoo Weather is building a network of weather creators and launching a major social presence for Yahoo Weather. This creative-first role serves as the operational heartbeat and "Air Traffic Control" for our newsroom, managing the logistics, people, and publishing systems.

Responsibilities 

  • Act as the daily point of contact for our weather creators, unblocking internal needs.

  • Physically own and manage our new social channels, including file uploads, posting schedules, and comment moderation.

  • Lead the strategy for repurposing long-form creator blogs into bite-sized social assets.

  • Manage asset organization, ensuring all videos and photos are requested, received, and tagged.

  • Track and report weekly performance metrics, flagging trending content for the Editorial Director.

  • Serve as the primary operational liaison for all photography and visual asset projects, as well as the discovery of our content throughout the Yahoo ecosystem.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in social media management, production, or talent relations.

  • Highly organized with advanced proficiency in spreadsheets, content calendars, and social platform backends.

  • "Extremely online" with a mature, professional mindset.

  • Proven ability to manage two-way conversations and community building on major social platforms.

Preferred Responsibilities/Qualifications

  • Background in identifying and reacting to real-time online trends.

  • Strong interest or expertise in weather-related content.

The compensation for this position ranges from $72,750.00 - $151,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
