Job Title : Electrical Engineer – Power Electronics
Position Overview: Nextpower is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer - Power Electronics to join our dynamic team. You will play a critical role in the design, development, and test of power electronics systems for Nextpower's innovative energy products. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of sustainable energy solutions while developing your skills in power electronics design with our world-class team of engineers and researchers.
Responsibilities:
- Work in power lab to bring up new boards and test new products
- Lead PCB layout for power converters ranging from watts to hundreds of kilowatts.
- Build and maintain simulations and models used in our design process
- Lead new component selection and validation activities
- Maintain documentation for multiple product lines
- Responsible for design verification and certification activities
- Build software and hardware tools to automate test and verification processes
- Work with senior engineers to develop skills in magnetic design, high power inverter design, control theory, and designing high volume high reliability products.
- Maintain and operate HIL testing system
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of industry experience, Master’s with 3+ year of industry experience or Ph.D. in electrical engineering
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.
- Intermediate understanding of power electronics principles.
- Proficient in use of oscilloscopes, function generators, and other lab tools
- Proficient with schematic capture and PCB layout tools, such as Altium Designer.
- Experience with simulation tools such as spice, PLECS, or Matlab.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and experience troubleshooting and debugging electrical systems.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and functions.
- Passion for sustainable energy solutions, with a desire to drive positive change through innovation.

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The annual salary range for this position is Pay Range (Applicable to California) $140,000.00 - $160,000.00, dependent on level of experience.
