Key Responsibilities
The role
This Electrical Engineer will help manage engineering projects from planning through construction. The role combines technical engineering work with project coordination, stakeholder communication, and field collaboration. This is not a pure design-only role.
The right person will be comfortable working across office and field settings, partnering with internal teams, municipalities, landowners, contractors, and field crews to keep projects moving and ensure work is completed to specification.
What you'll do
- Manage engineering and infrastructure projects through the full project lifecycle
- Coordinate with municipalities, landowners, easement stakeholders, and other external partners
- Oversee project execution through construction and implementation
- Partner with linemen, field teams, and internal stakeholders to support successful delivery
- Ensure projects meet engineering specifications, compliance requirements, and operational needs
- Support utility-related work involving transmission, distribution, substations, or adjacent infrastructure environments
- Travel locally during the day to project sites as needed; overnight travel is minimal

- Electrical engineering background
- Project management or project delivery experience
- Strong communication skills, especially with non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively with field teams, internal partners, and external stakeholders
- Based in or able to commute to the Springfield / Jacksonville, Illinois area
