Job Description Summary:

The Electrical Preconstruction Project Engineer is responsible for assisting with preconstruction coordination activities of electrical system design and procurement for utility scale renewable energy projects.
This role can be fully remote. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

  • DC Electrical System Constructability & Procurement Coordination

  • Review contract documents to identify any project requirements (SOLV requirements, owner/contract requirements, and permit requirements) that may have an impact on the project’s electrical design while tracking compliance with such requirements.

  • Assist the Electrical Preconstruction Manager with material take-offs to generate accurate BOMs (Bill of Material) and generating RFQs (Request for Quote) for DC collection electrical components, ensuring project specifications are met.

  • Assist the Electrical Preconstruction Manager with reviewing DC collection manufacturer quotes for accuracy, ensuring compliance with project specifications and budgets.

  • Coordinate with the Procurement and Electrical Preconstruction Management teams to source and procure required materials in a timely manner while ensuring project materials are delivered to site in alignment with the project schedule.

  • Work with the Procurement and Electrical Preconstruction Management teams to understand design constraints and material lead-times to ensure long lead procurement items are released at their appropriate milestones to avoid schedule delays.

  • Work with the Electrical Preconstruction Manager to review EEOR plan sets and DC collection manufacturer designs for accuracy and compliance with project requirements (SOLV requirements, owner/contract requirements, and permit requirements).

  • Prepare, transmit, and track design & material submittals for EEOR & owner review

  • Support the Electrical Preconstruction Management team with preparation and tracking of project-specific electrical material budgets

  • Assist with updating Smartsheet trackers to reflect changes to project schedules, status of EPC exhibits, procurement milestones, submittal reviews, and design deliverables

  • Coordinate with the Procurement team to ensure vendor quotes are coded correctly

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum (1) Year of project coordination and/or project engineer experience preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or similar) is preferred

  • Proficient in BlueBeam and Microsoft Excel

  • Proficient in Smartsheet preferred

  • Ability to read and understand electrical plans

  • Effective written and verbal communications skills

  • Detailed oriented and effective organizational skills

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously

  • High aptitude for problem solving and critical thinking

  • Strong sense of urgency

Compensation Range:

$72,000.00 - $90,000.00
