ABOUT SLATE

At Slate, we’re building safe, reliable vehicles that people can afford, personalize and love—and doing it here in the USA as part of our commitment to reindustrialization. The spirit of DIY and customization runs throughout every element of a Slate, because people should have control over how their trucks look, feel, and represent them.

What we are looking for

We are seeking a highly accountable, detail-obsessed Email & SMS Program Lead to bring order and rigor to our owned-channel programs. This is a project management role at its core: you will own the operational backbone of our Email and SMS programs — organizing the team around the creation, sending, and reporting of every campaign, and making sure nothing slips.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned project manager with hands-on email marketing experience. You are the person who keeps the trains running: building intake processes, campaign calendars, and QA checklists; holding creative, copy, data, and dev partners to deadlines; and making sure every send is flawless, on time, and measured. You are equally comfortable in a project plan and in a Salesforce Marketing Cloud build, and you take personal ownership of outcomes. Where others see chaos, you build process.

What you get to do

  • Own end-to-end project management for Email and SMS programs — from intake and briefing through build, QA, deployment, and post-send reporting.

  • Organize the team around the creation, sending, and insights for every Email and SMS campaign, keeping creative, copy, data, and development partners aligned and accountable to deadlines.

  • Build and maintain the campaign calendar, intake process, and production workflow so priorities, timelines, and dependencies are clear to everyone.

  • Maintains project management systems and oversees the tracking of tickets, tasks, and epics.

  • Serve as the single point of accountability for on-time, error-free execution across all owned-channel sends.

  • Establish and enforce rigorous QA standards to ensure flawless campaign execution across email and SMS.

  • Manage and optimize the use of CRM tools, primarily Salesforce Marketing Cloud, to build, schedule, and execute campaigns.

  • Coordinate the build and maintenance of always-on triggers and journeys (e.g., Welcome Series, Abandon Cart, Post-Purchase, win-back) in partnership with the strategy and data teams.

  • Own campaign reporting cadence — pull performance data, generate regular reports, and surface clear, actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Partner with the CRM strategy, creative, digital, and UX teams to translate plans into executable production schedules.

  • Uphold email list hygiene and deliverability best practices that support healthy inboxing and maximum engagement.

  • Drive continuous improvement of the production process, removing bottlenecks and raising the bar on speed and quality.

What you bring to the team

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution, or 3-5 years of relevant work experience.

  • A minimum of 3 years of project or program management experience, with proven hands-on experience managing email marketing execution.

  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (or an equivalent CRM/ESP platform), including building and deploying campaigns, triggers, and journeys.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple campaigns and projects end-to-end, on tight timelines, without dropping details.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with a strong track record of QA and flawless execution.

  • Experience building triggers and journeys for always-on campaigns such as Abandon Cart, Post-Purchase, and Welcome Series.

  • Strong reporting skills — able to pull performance data and turn it into clear, actionable recommendations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to hold partners accountable while keeping relationships strong.

  • A calm, ownership-driven approach in a fast-paced environment; you take responsibility for outcomes.
