About Voltus
Voltus is the leading virtual power plant operator of distributed energy resources. Voltus pays energy users to reduce or shift electricity use in response to grid stress, high prices, and high emissions. Our mission is to be the Distributed Energy Platform that fulfills the promise of the energy transition. The Voltus platform connects any distributed energy resources (DERs) to any energy markets across the US and Canada, providing flexibility, reliability, and resilience to the grid while generating revenue for our partners. By partnering with industry leaders and the DER ecosystem, we are building the decarbonized, distributed, decentralized, and digitized energy system of the future.
We hire teammates who are bright, gritty, and good and who have a genuine passion for delivering a cleaner energy future and for working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Voltus is a remote and virtual company, distributed across US, Canada, and abroad with many team members in New York, San Francisco, Boston, Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, DC and other cities.
The Role
We’re searching for a whip-smart, entrepreneurial energy nerd with a passion for energy storage and a sharp eye for process and tool improvement to join our world-class team as an Energy Markets Associate. This role offers broad exposure across Energy Markets, with a particular focus on growing our energy storage business and enabling the successful participation of storage assets across diverse programs and ISOs. You will also collaborate closely across Partnerships, Product, Engineering, and Operations to solve complex problems, streamline processes, and build durable, scalable solutions. The Associate will play a critical role in reducing manual effort, improving tooling, and expanding our ability to scale across multiple workstreams.
If you’re bright, gritty, and intellectually curious, with a mindset that blends creativity and technical rigor, you’ll thrive here.
This is a remote role, with flexibility to work from anywhere, while engaging in market-facing activities and collaborating with teammates and stakeholders during continental U.S. business hours.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, and Product to enhance the margin and overall performance of our portfolios.
- Support go-to-market efforts by translating complex market dynamics into clear, actionable insights, enabling effective positioning of Voltus’ energy storage solutions for both existing and prospective customers.
- Contribute to the roadmap, including scoping what is appropriate for Energy Markets to self-serve on rather than handing off to the Product team.
- Innovate and generate new ideas for how Voltus can continue to deliver Better Energy and More Cash to our customers.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work product.
