Job Description SummaryAs an Engineering Document Control Specialist in CIC, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and control of engineering and manufacturing data across key systems and processes. This role serves as a critical link between Engineering and Manufacturing. The role supports ERP and PLM data management, part creation, bill of materials (BOM) maintenance, approved manufacturer list (AML) administration, and controlled product data updates. The position also supports engineering document control and related change activities to ensure product information remains accurate, consistent, and aligned across functions and sites.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and controlled engineering and manufacturing data in ERP, PLM, and related business systems

  • Support part creation, part maintenance, and product record updates in PLM, with SAP support as required

  • Perform and maintain ERP (SAP) data entry for product and material master records

  • Create, update, and maintain bills of materials (BOMs)

  • Maintain approved manufacturer lists (AMLs) in support of engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing requirements

  • Support document control activities related to engineering records, revisions, and released product data

  • Assist with implementation of approved changes to engineering documentation and associated system records

  • Serve as a key interface to Manufacturing for BOM and AML management across CIC locations, including Markham, Rochester, and Stafford

  • Contribute to standardization and improvement of parts management, document control, and data governance practices across the organization

  • Provide limited support for customs-related documentation coordination, as needed

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Postsecondary degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field

  • At least 2 years of experience in engineering support, document control, manufacturing operations, product data management, or a related role

 

Desired Characteristics:

  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP

  • Experience managing BOMs, AMLs, part master data, and related engineering or manufacturing records

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams

  • Experience supporting engineering document control and change management processes

  • Familiarity with engineering change orders (ECOs), change notices, or release processes

  • Experience with PLM systems and controlled product data environments

  • Experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites and/or contract manufacturers

  • Experience improving or standardizing product data or document control processes

  • Experience in electronics or similar technical manufacturing environments

  • Document and data control discipline

For candidates applying to a Canadian-based position, the pay range for this position is between $50,250 and $85,000 CAD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. 

Bonus eligibility: Not bonus eligible.
