The R&D Engineer Intern is responsible to learn and execute the lifecycle product design development for the company’s prosthetic products, including research, system design, analysis, requirements, risk analysis, design documentation, development, verification, and validation of all related components.

This will support an expanding operation for commercialization of our next generation prosthetic feet, ankles, knees, and legs. Working closely with the entire PROTEOR engineering and operations team, they will be responsible for the ongoing engineering support of prosthetic limbs. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer and can contribute to the development of products from concept to launch.

Requirements

  

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

· Support design, development, and release of detailed prosthetic components and sub-systems.

· Perform product design modifications.

· Create Engineering CAD models and drawings. 

· Perform mechanical and electrical design calculations.

· Support controls systems and software development activities.

· Support development and execution of verification and validation protocols.

· Provide engineering support to internal and external customers including engineering, manufacturing, sales, clinical services, medical practitioners, and product users.

· Collaborate with Engineering team members.

· Tasks and responsibilities assigned as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Pursuing an Engineering degree in Design, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Controls Systems, Biomedical, or relevant Engineering field.

· Working knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) packages such as SolidWorks.

· Working knowledge of programming/computing software such as MATLAB or PYTHON.

· Strong ethics, ambition, drive, and results oriented.

· Planning, prioritization, organizational, and communication skills.
