You are passionate about hiring and leading a diverse team of Frontend and Backend Engineers to build an end-to-end product from scratch. You will partner closely with the Product team to shape and execute the roadmap for our new Payroll Offering that GA'd in January.
This is a fully remote role, however, you must be physically located in EST and be willing and able to work EST hours Monday-Friday given the location of other members on your team.
Base salary for this role ranges from $200,000 - $230,000 per year.

Job Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering with a strong backend background. All candidates must pass the same live coding interview given to Senior Backend Engineering candidates.
- 3+ years of experience leading, growing and mentoring Engineering Teams, preferably in dynamic, fast-paced companies.
- Experience developing products in one of the following domains or similar: Payroll, Benefits, HR, Payments.
- Excellent knowledge of software design and scalable web architecture.
- Experience developing SaaS products hosted in a cloud platform like AWS or equivalent.
- People-person with strong leadership skills who can build a winning team.
- Independent, resourceful, and proactive team player with a desire to impact our team, our product, and our customers.
The following are a big plus:
- Experience developing a product from scratch.
- Experience with Kotlin / Scala / Java.
- Both Backend and Frontend development experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Hire, lead, and develop a high performing Engineering team to build our Payroll Product in alignment with overall product vision and business goals.
- Partner with Product to build and execute on a roadmap of exciting features for Payroll.
- Drive technical excellence by building a product end-to-end: owning the dev cycle from the technical design, through coding and testing, to deployment and monitoring.
- Manage a continuous delivery environment with fully automated QA processes on a microservices architecture, deploying to production dozens of times every day.
- Foster a collaborative work environment across multiple teams globally, including CX, UX, Infrastructure teams and other dev teams.
- Foster a strong feedback culture, where all team members are encouraged to challenge and be challenged on their opinions and beliefs in order to always optimize for the best possible outcome.
