ClickHouse is looking for an experienced Engineering Lead, Web Platform, to lead the technical evolution of our marketing website and the systems that power our digital presence.

This is a hands-on player/coach role. You’ll define the technical direction of one of our most important products while remaining an active contributor to the codebase. You’ll partner closely with Design, Demand Generation, Content, Product Marketing and Engineering to build a world-class web platform that enables rapid growth without compromising engineering quality.

Success in this role requires someone who enjoys balancing long-term technical strategy with day-to-day execution. At ClickHouse, leaders lead by doing.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and lead the technical strategy for the ClickHouse web platform.
  • Architect, build and maintain our marketing website and supporting systems using Next.js, React, JavaScript, TypeScript and Strapi.
  • Contribute meaningful production code across the platform. This is a hands-on engineering role where everybody codes.
  • Continuously improve the platform’s performance, scalability, reliability, accessibility and maintainability.
  • Own the technical health of the website, including Core Web Vitals, deployment pipelines, observability and engineering best practices.
  • Partner with Demand Generation to improve self-service capabilities and evolve experimentation and A/B testing infrastructure.
  • Partner with the Content team to improve technical SEO and search performance.
  • Partner with Design to deliver exceptional user experiences while maintaining engineering quality and implementation consistency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand priorities, define technical solutions and build the roadmap for the web platform.
  • Establish and maintain high engineering standards through architecture, code reviews, documentation and technical leadership.
  • Help shape the future of web engineering at ClickHouse by evaluating modern technologies, tooling and AI-assisted development workflows.
  • Help build and grow a lean, high-performing web engineering team as the organisation evolves, partnering on hiring where additional investment is needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Extensive experience building and operating modern web platforms using Next.js, React, JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Strong software architecture and systems design experience.
  • Experience with headless CMS platforms, ideally Strapi.
  • Deep understanding of web performance, accessibility, analytics integrations and modern frontend engineering practices.
  • Experience building reliable production systems with modern deployment, monitoring and observability tooling.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across design, marketing and engineering.
  • A pragmatic technical leader who enjoys mentoring others while remaining close to the code.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building high-traffic SaaS websites.
  • Experience with experimentation platforms and A/B testing frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of technical SEO.
  • Experience building or contributing to design systems.
  • Familiarity with modern analytics platforms and data-driven optimisation.
  • Experience using AI-powered developer tools to improve engineering productivity.
