Challenge

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager who can balance strong people leadership with hands-on technical contribution.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building and scaling teams, delivering reliable software, and owning end-to-end delivery outcomes.

You’ll lead multiple teams, influence engineering culture and process, and stay close to the code — especially around APIs, integrations, and AI-enabled initiatives.

Responsibilities:
- Mentor and grow engineers at different career stages, supporting performance, feedback, and professional development.
- Lead engineering teams toward high levels of productivity, reliability, and delivery predictability.
- Contribute to engineering culture, standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Drive team roadmaps and priorities, coordinating dependencies with Product and other engineering teams.
- Design, build, and maintain APIs, backend services, systems, and supporting user-facing experiences.
- Own the planning and execution of new partner integrations, from discovery through production.
- Balance engineering management responsibilities with individual contributor work when needed.
- Plan and execute work across monthly and quarterly timelines.
- Interface with external partners and vendors to deliver pragmatic, efficient solutions without over-optimizing for perfection.
- Lead hiring efforts and support team growth across multiple recruitment streams.

Mandatory Skills:
- Proven experience leading engineering teams that consistently deliver production software.
- Strong experience balancing people management and hands-on technical contribution.
- Deep experience designing and building APIs at scale.
- Hands-on experience building and launching AI-powered or ML-enabled features/projects.
- Strong understanding of planning and execution across medium- and long-term horizons (months/quarters).
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
- Deep expertise in at least one of the following programming languages: Ruby or Rust

Nice to Have:
- Experience working in highly regulated or data-intensive environments.
- Exposure to event-driven architectures or messaging systems.
- Previous experience mentoring other engineering managers or tech leads.
- Experience working with distributed or offshore teams.
- Background in platform or integration-heavy products.

Team & Environment:
- Leadership of two engineering teams (approximately 7 engineers total) with mixed seniority levels.
- Strong ownership model: teams are accountable for planning, delivery, testing, and quality.
- Emphasis on collaboration, autonomy, and continuous improvement.

Benefits

- Include  100% company-paid medical and dental coverage for you and your dependents.
- Healthcare and dependent care FSA (Flexible Spending Account).
- Flexible PTO policy: take time off without worrying about accruals or carryovers.
- Pre-tax commuting benefits.
- Home office allowance so you can work comfortably wherever you are.

How our process works
1. Interview with Tech Recruiter (chat about the job opening and your experiences)
2. Client process (this may vary)
3. Offer (yay)
