Job Description

We’re looking for a high-impact SWE Manager to lead one of our core product engineering teams. This is an ideal role for a strong engineer who’s already spent a few years leading or managing teams and is now ready to take the next meaningful step in their leadership career.

In this role, you’ll have end-to-end ownership: from guiding technical direction to developing people, shaping the roadmap, and delivering meaningful customer outcomes. You’ll work in a innovative, product-led engineering culture that gives teams autonomy, trusts them to make decisions, and measures them by impact, not layers of process.

You’ll join a company where engineering isn’t a support function—it is the business.

Why is this Role Attractive?

  • You’ll manage engineers while still staying close to the tech
  • Perfect for leaders who want to grow their management career without being siloed away from architecture, design, or strategic technical decisions.

You’ll get significant scope early

  • You won’t need years of “paying dues” to earn autonomy. From day one, you’ll own a product area with real scale and millions of users.

You’ll grow quickly

  • You’ll collaborate with experienced managers and principal engineers who raise the bar—and help you level up your leadership, people-development, and technical strategy skills.

You’ll lead talented, motivated engineers

  • We hire thoughtful, experienced engineers who value clean architecture, reliability, impact, and humility. Your job is to empower great people—not babysit.
  • You’ll make real-world fintech impact
  • Your team will ship features that directly influence how people move, save, and use money globally.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years total engineering experience, including designing and delivering production systems
  • 3+ years of engineering leadership, actually leading a team with reports (manager, lead, tech lead, or EM)
  • You’ve mentored engineers and care deeply about their growth
  • You can dive into technical discussions and guide engineers toward sound decisions
  • You understand how to balance technical quality with delivering customer value
  • You communicate with clarity and bring calm, confidence, and structure to ambiguity
  • Bonus: Experience in fintech, distributed systems, or highly available services

Additional Information

  • Competitive comp / equity
  • Autonomy: we hire experts and trust them
  • A learning culture with budgets for books, training, and conferences
  • Clear growth paths toward senior EM & tech leadership roles
  • Flexible working (hybrid)
  • Hard technical problems and the space to solve them the right way

For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders  — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.

We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences.
Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.
