  • Drive the technical roadmap for cloud infrastructure with the tech lead.
  • Own cost visibility and efficiency as cloud usage scales.
  • Partner with Security on governance, access, and compliance.
  • Balance resourcing against business needs and individual capacity.
  • Keep prioritization sharp and processes lean.
  • Partner with leadership to sustain a culture of collaboration, impact, and innovation.
  • Hire and grow the team, anticipating business needs and pitching investment to leadership.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day running of the Software team’s operations and larger collaborative efforts.

About you

Wayve is scaling fast, and we're looking for someone who's passionate about laying the cornerstone: building the cloud infrastructure foundations and best practices that will support the company for years to come. Here's what will help you thrive as our Engineering Manager, Cloud Infrastructure.

Essential

  • 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager in software or developer operations.
  • Experience balancing project work with support and operational load.
  • Passion for developing individual team members.
  • Strong roadmap planning, stakeholder management, and cross-team alignment.
  • Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or GCP) at scale.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar).
  • Familiarity with Linux and container orchestration (Kubernetes or similar).
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Desirable

  • Experience operating a multi-cloud environment.
  • Knowledge of build systems and modern CI/CD solutions.
  • Experience developing in Python.

This is a full-time role based in our office in Sunnyvale and the reasonably estimated salary for this role ranges from $276,100 to $311,400, plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.

At Wayve we want the best of all worlds so we operate a hybrid working policy that combines time together in our offices and workshops to fuel innovation, culture, relationships and learning, and time spent working from home. We operate core working hours so you can determine the schedule that works best for you and your team.
