About Prophet Security

Prophet Security builds an AI-native security operations platform that accelerates detection, investigation, and response. We help teams move faster without being constrained by alert volume or fragmented tools. As an early team, you’ll work alongside veterans from Abnormal Security, Expel, Mandiant, and McAfee, and help shape what we build as we scale customer outcomes.

The Impact You'll Have

The Core Product Team at Prophet Security owns the core investigative features and workflows that power our AI SOC agent. This team builds the features that define how security analysts interact with and trust AI-driven investigation, from the initial alert triage through complex multi-stage threat hunting scenarios.

As the Engineering Manager for this team, you'll define and own the technical roadmap for Prophet AI's core intelligence capabilities. You will balance rapid customer value delivery with the long-term vision of building the most effective AI security analyst in the industry. Your work will directly define how security teams interact with and trust AI-driven investigation and response.

What You’ll Do

This is a hands-on engineering management role, where we expect meaningful technical contribution (25% of your time) alongside management responsibilities.

  • Build and grow a high-performing team of Product engineers. You will be responsible for hiring world-class talent that aligns with our culture and raises the bar

  • Stay hands-on with our codebase to maintain technical credibility and deep understanding of our systems. You aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves to fix a bug, add monitoring, or ship a feature when needed.

  • Provide coaching and mentorship through regular 1:1s, creating clear career development paths and growth opportunities for each team member

  • Manage team performance by setting clear expectations, providing continuous feedback, and conducting performance reviews that help engineers grow

  • Champion operational excellence by establishing SLOs, incident response processes, and continuous improvement practices

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience as an engineering manager, with demonstrated success leading product, full-stack, or AI/ML engineering teams

  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience building complex software systems, ideally in security, enterprise SaaS, or AI-powered products

  • Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams, including hiring, developing, and retaining top talent

  • Deep understanding of modern software development practices including agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and continuous delivery

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Familiarity with AI tooling and enabling a team to effectively follow an AI-native software development lifecycle

  • Passion for product quality and customer outcomes, with experience balancing speed of delivery with long-term technical excellence

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, or agentic workflows.

  • Background in cybersecurity

  • Experience building teams in fast-paced startup environments, particularly in scaling teams starting from the Series A/B stage

Our Culture

We provide great benefits, meaningful equity, and a fun, inspiring environment. Our values are:

  • Customer Centricity: We place customers at the core of our decisions.

  • Practicality over Perfection: We value efficient solutions and agile decision-making.

  • Strive for Excellence: We are committed to high standards and continuous improvement.

  • Transparent Communication: We encourage open, honest dialogue and trust.

  • Have Fun: We foster a positive environment that balances hard work with enjoyment.

All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status. Our hiring decisions are based exclusively on merit, qualifications, and business needs.

Compensation

Employee compensation will be determined based on interview performance, level of experience, specialization of skills, and market rate. During the offer discussion, your recruiter will review the finalized base salary, bonus (for applicable roles), benefits & perks, and stock options as they’ll be reflected in the offer letter.
