Why Lumos?
  • Jump on a Rocketship: Since launching out of stealth mode just over 2 years ago, our team has grown from 20 to ~100 people and our customer base has 10x’ed with companies like GitHub, MongoDB and Major League Baseball!
  • Build with Renowned Investor Backing: Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) backed us since the beginning and we've raised over $65m from Scale, Neo, Greg Brockman (President at OpenAI), Phil Venables (CISO at Google), and others.
  • Thrive in a Unique Culture: You’ll join an early-stage company where you have actual influence on the trajectory of the company. We deeply care about our people and the philosophy we live by - check out our values here.

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Integrations Platform team! You'll play a pivotal role in making integrations a strategic moat for Lumos, ensuring we can connect to and act upon external systems reliably and efficiently. This role reports into our Head of Platform Engineering.

✨ Your Responsibilities
  • Own and drive our Integrations Platform, including acquisition pipelines, action/write capabilities, SDK development, and developer experience.
  • Create and execute on a compelling vision to build world-class integration systems that empower both internal developers and third-party partners to build integrations with confidence. ⭐
  • Lead, mentor, and grow our talented team of platform engineers, while also coordinating with external consultants who build connectors using our SDK. 🚀
  • Champion organizational growth by implementing scalable, reliable integration practices that accelerate product development and delight our customers. Elevate the principles of platform engineering across Lumos. 🌱
🙌 What We Value

While specific qualifications are less important than your drive and potential, the following experiences will set you up for success in this role:

  • 2+ years of proven people management experience leading engineering teams. You'll oversee a team of engineers plus coordinate work with external consultants, while staying close to the technical problems.
  • Experience managing teams focused on Integrations and/or Platform Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience building SDKs, developer platforms, or third-party integration ecosystems with a focus on developer experience and reliability.
  • Strong background in ETL and data extraction/acquisition pipelines — you understand how to ingest data from third-party systems reliably and efficiently, including handling authentication, rate limiting, retries, and cost optimization.
  • Proven ability to plan and implement integration architectures that balance reliability, cost efficiency, and developer productivity.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working at a startup (ideally 2+ years and at an early stage!)
  • Exposure to and understanding of "excellent" engineering practices gained at a top-tier technology company.
  • Experience managing both internal teams and external consultants/contractors.
  • Knowledge and experience with modern integration patterns (REST, GraphQL, webhooks, event-driven architectures).
💰 Pay Range

$175,000 - $236,000. Note that this range is a good faith estimate of likely pay for this role; upon hire, the pay may differ due to skill and/or level of experience.

Thank you for considering Lumos! 🎉
