The Role You'll Play

At the intersection of cutting-edge AI and real-world business solutions, your role as an Engineering Manager for the SmartDesk product, you will lead an engineering team in building an innovative AI-powered front desk assistant for wellness businesses. As a strategic technical leader, you'll transform emerging AI capabilities into reliable, impactful products that solve complex communication and workflow challenges.

  • Empower a high-performing engineering team to deliver exceptional technical solutions and drive meaningful business impact
  • Lead end-to-end team management, from recruiting top talent to mentoring and supporting career growth
  • Shape the technical vision and strategy for SmartDesk, balancing rapid innovation with robust engineering principles
  • Drive product development through close collaboration with product, data, and applied AI teams
  • Make critical architectural decisions that balance speed, quality, and long-term system flexibility
  • Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives and help evolve Playlist's technical capabilities
  • Establish clear goals, prioritize resources, and guide team execution through complex, ambiguous challenges
Experience You Bring
  • 3+ years of engineering management experience leading teams of 6+ members
  • Proven track record of designing and scaling AI-powered SaaS products in B2B2C environments
  • Strong proficiency in Python, with comfort working across diverse technology stacks (React, C#)
  • Deep expertise in transforming AI capabilities into production-ready, reliable systems
  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success in establishing technical vision and driving measurable outcomes
  • Experience with modern AI development tools and frameworks
  • Passion for building diverse, high-performing engineering teams

The goal of Playlist's compensation program is to be transparent, attract potential employees, meet the needs of all current employees, and encourage Team Members to stay with our organization. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
    The base salary range for this position in the United States is $151,275 to $201,700. The total compensation package for this position may also include a performance bonus, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
