Responsibilities
  • Own predictable delivery across multiple concurrent, business-critical software initiatives from requirements through stable production operation.
  • Establish and continuously improve engineering practices across planning, development, QA, CI/CD, releases, production support, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead architecture and technical decision-making, balancing delivery speed, scalability, maintainability, security, and reliability.
  • Create clarity from ambiguous or evolving requirements and ensure teams operate with clear priorities, acceptance criteria, and accountability.
  • Define and use meaningful engineering metrics to improve delivery predictability, software quality, team effectiveness, and production reliability.
  • Build and develop high-performing engineering teams through clear expectations, coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  • Establish standards for code quality, testing, security, release readiness, observability, and operational ownership.
  • Lead production releases and major incidents when necessary, ensuring root causes are addressed with permanent corrective actions.
  • Partner closely with Product, QA, Business Analysis, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality customer outcomes.
  • Drive responsible AI adoption across the software development lifecycle while maintaining appropriate security, quality, and human-review controls.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity, delivery processes, architecture, and platform quality.
Requirements
  • 12+ years of professional software engineering, technology delivery, or related technical experience.
  • 7+ years of engineering management with meaningful experience operating at a Senior Engineering Manager, Director, or equivalent level.
  • Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams, workstreams, or complex software initiatives through production.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft full-stack development, cloud platforms, mobile environments, and modern software architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps, SQL Server, ASP.NET/.NET, C#, Git, CI/CD, JavaScript frameworks, and iOS/Android environments.
  • Deep understanding of the full software delivery lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, development, testing, release, operations, and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective engineering processes, standards, metrics, and operating models.
  • Proven ability to drive complex or ambiguous software initiatives to successful production delivery with measurable outcomes.
  • Strong production ownership, including release readiness, incident management, root-cause analysis, and reliability improvements.
  • Proven ability to build accountable, high-performing engineering teams through coaching, performance management, and clear expectations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and delivery topics clearly and concisely to teams, stakeholders, and executives.
Nice to Have
  • Experience leading distributed, nearshore, or offshore engineering organizations.
  • Experience in SaaS, Fintech, financial services, or other security/compliance-sensitive environments.
  • Previous software development experience with the ability to review or discuss application code when necessary.
  • PMP, Scrum, Agile, or related professional certification.
