Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions, Inc. seeks an Engineering Manager in Santa Clara, CA, who will serve to strategize the design and execution of private 5G enterprise solutions aligned with business goals and customer requirements.
What you will do:
Architect cutting-edge network topologies incorporating 5G RAN, Core, and Edge, with emphasis on scalability, reliability, and performance. Orchestrate cross-functional teams spanning QA, DevOps, and product management to ensure timely and aligned delivery of initiatives. Optimize system workflows, throughput, and automation pipelines to reduce cycle time and improve testing efficiency. Innovate through continuous R&D-developing new frameworks and tooling for AI-driven analysis and robotic automation. Lead enterprise deployments, lab trials, and pilot engagements for strategic customers across North America. Implement advanced automation frameworks (e.g., Robot Framework, Python-based test harnesses) for continuous testing and monitoring of 5G services. Ensure compliance with industry standards (3GPP, ORAN, ETSI) and regulatory requirements for spectrum usage, security, and interoperability. Engage with vendors and partners to evaluate emerging technologies, negotiate contracts, and manage third-party deliverables. Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence. [3 direct reports-Engineers] 20% domestic and international travel required.

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 5 years of experience in Test Engineering or a related occupation.

- Architecting and validating LTE/5G mobile networks through system integration and end-to-end testing.
- Leading RF and core network design for NSA/SA NR, Carrier Aggregation, and private 5G deployments including AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF, NRF, NSSF, and UDM.
- Optimizing protocol stacks including SIP, IMS, GTP-U, PFCP, NGAP, HTTP/2, TCP/IP, and IP routing/switching.
- Integrating cloud-native platforms using Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices across AWS, Azure, OpenShift, and Tanzu.
- Automating test frameworks using Python, Go, C/C++, and Bash
- Maintaining CI/CD pipelines via Jenkins and GitLab.
- Utilizing diagnostic tools including (Wireshark, TCP Dump for backhaul, TM500, QXDM for UE debugging , and XCAL)
and Traffic generators including Spirent and, Keysight) for performance analysis. - Validated industrial protocols and IoT platforms, ensuring compliance with 3GPP radio performance specs.
- Secured private networks through vulnerability testing and enforcement of CIA principles.
- Troubleshooting complex call flows (including CSFB, VoLTE, VoNR, SRVCC, and handovers) and conducting RCA for network failures.
- Analyzed KPIs to recommend improvements in coverage, interference mitigation, and cell tuning
