As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for guiding a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions. What You’ll Do

  • Lead & Develop: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.

  • Technical Leadership: Provide architectural and technical guidance to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability of the WMS.

  • Execution & Delivery: Oversee the development lifecycle, ensuring efficient planning, prioritization, and execution of engineering projects.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Design, and Operations teams to align technical initiatives with business objectives.

  • Process Improvement: Enhance engineering processes, streamline workflows, and implement best practices to drive operational efficiency.

  • Code & Architecture Oversight: Ensure high code quality and adherence to software development best practices through design reviews and technical mentorship.

  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the engineering strategy and roadmap, aligning it with Stord’s broader business goals.

What You’ll Need

  • Proven experience (8+ years) in software engineering, with 3+ years in an engineering leadership role.

  • Strong background in development, preferably in Elixir/Phoenix or other functional programming languages.

  • Experience working on large-scale distributed systems or complex enterprise applications.

  • Ability to mentor, coach, and develop engineers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong understanding of software development best practices, system architecture, and DevOps principles.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Design, and other teams.

  • You will be required to clearly articulate complex technical ideas and plans with people of diverse backgrounds.

  • Previous experience as an Engineering Manager at multiple companies.

  • Previous startup experience.

  • Experience in logistics or supply chain technology.

  • Hands-on experience with WMS platforms, Labor Management Systems, or Order Management Systems
