The Civil Environmental & Infrastructure Portfolio at Leidos currently has an opening for an Environmental Data Manager, this position is fully remote or hybrid working out of our Reston, VA office.

The successful Environmental Data Manager candidate will manage environmental investigation-derived data collected under contracts with the Army Corps of Engineers, Environmental Protection Agency, Air National Guard, and Commercial entities.  These data will include field measurements and screening data, state and federal regulatory values, sample chains of custody, laboratory methods and target analyte lists, confirmatory analytical chemistry data, data quality and validation information, statistical analysis data, exposure assessment data, and geospatial data.  The Environmental Data Manager will perform extract, transform, and load (ETL) operations on the data and will manage the data throughout its lifecycle (event planning, field prep and execution, investigation data compilation, Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC), report preparation and submittal, and final data submissions).  The Environmental Data Manager will support many environmental investigation contracts, project managers, analysts, chemists, and customer-specified data delivery formats (ERPIMS, FUDSChem, ADR.NET). 

The Environmental Data Manager will work with senior Leidos Data Managers, and project chemists, collaborating with multiple Leidos offices. Applicants should demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and be comfortable working in a team environment. Strong organizational skills are essential.

Environmental Data Manager responsibilities: 

• Interface daily with quality control/laboratory/field personnel.
• Build planned sample, analysis, target analyte records into established relational databases.
• Generate sample labels for field collection events.
• Conduct routine checks of data deliverable compliance with contract specifications.
• Ensure data completeness and readiness for analysis activities (lifecycle tracking).
• Maintain state and federal regulatory screening criteria for each project.
• Load sample chain of custody information into established relational databases.
• Load field and analytical chemistry data to establish relational databases.
• Create, populate, and maintain unique ERPToolsX project databases for each sampling event.
• Ensure conformance of data with ERPToolsX valid values and data validation checks.
• Perform data submissions to ERPIMS; resolve submission feedback from AFCEC and obtain ERPIMS final insert notifications.
• Perform data edits and corrections as instructed by quality assurance staff.
• Develop T-SQL queries to locate and interrogate data.
• Extract data and provide support to Leidos report writers, risk assessors, and analysts.
• Generate data presentation and screening tables using established workflows.
• Utilize established SQL Server workflows to extract, transform, and load data.
• Provide data delivery support to customer-specified formats and systems. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related scientific discipline and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
• Experience writing T-SQL statements and working with relational databases.
• Experience using ERPToolsX software and submitting data to AFCEC ERPIMS system.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• The position requires the ability to communicate technical information orally and in writing.
• Must possess excellent organization skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications: 

•    Directly related work experience managing environmental analytical chemistry data.
•    Experience using EQuIS software.
•    Experience delivering data to the Army ERIS system.
•    Experience using the Army HQAES system.
•    Experience using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
•    Database programming experience.

Pay Range:Pay Range $55,250.00 - $99,875.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
