Job Purpose: 

BTIG’s Equity Capital Markets group (ECM) seeks a Vice President to join our rapidly growing Corporate, Private Equity and Venture coverage unit based in San Francisco or New York office.  Our team trades on behalf of Venture Capital, Private Equity, and listed corporate clients covering the spectrum of open market execution, secondary block monetization, corporate repurchase programs, and At-The-Market offerings. 

The purpose of the role is to help support and grow our coverage effort both through executing the existing business (origination, onboarding, trading, restricted cleanup, and settlement) as well as assisting the team with expanding the business to new prospective clients.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Support the team with operational functions including onboarding, managing trade allocations and settlement, and reporting trades to clients 
  • Assist clients in full-service capacity with everything from onboarding, wiring of proceeds, share delivery, DRS and DWAC transfers from transfer agents, coordinating restrictive legend opinions, and all other client needs 
  • Assist internally with business development, including helping with outreach efforts to prospective Venture Capital, Private Equity, and Fund of Funds clients as well as improving service to existing clients 
  • Assist team with developing sophisticated liquidation strategies for significant equity ownership positions, often constrained by affiliate status, board seats, trading windows, and relevant safe harbors from registration 
  • Develop, review, and manage 10b5-1 plans 
  • Keep clients informed on trading dynamics of shares in their portfolio and available liquidity opportunities 
  • Communicate with both clients and trading desk on client orders and execution 

Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree minimum.  Finance/Business/Economics focus is a plus but by no means required 
  • Knowledge of equity trading, capital markets transactions, and restricted settlement are all beneficial but not required. 
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.  As both a trading desk and client facing role, clear and strong communication and presentation skills are an absolute necessity 
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills required.  Bloomberg terminal knowledge a plus 
  • Attributes sought include strong organizational and process skills, intelligence, willingness to work hard, self-motivation, eagerness to learn and hunger for rapid career development.  Must enjoy and thrive in a fast paced, high pressure, team environment 
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and series 63 preferred (would be required within a 6-month period);  Series 79 beneficial longer term

Compensation: 

  • BTIG offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Salary range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, years of applicable experience, skills, qualifications, licensure and certifications, and other business and organization needs.
  • The current estimated base salary range for this role is $200,000 - $260,000 per year. Please note that certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as discretionary bonus or overtime.
