The Role: Equity Compensation Analyst & Administrator

The Equity Compensation Analyst & Administrator is a member of the Total Rewards team responsible for administering and supporting Switch's equity and long-term incentive compensation programs. This role serves as the primary point of contact for employees and business leaders on equity-related matters, ensuring awards are administered accurately, employees receive timely support, and programs comply with company policies and applicable regulations.

Working closely with Legal, Finance, Payroll, Recruiting, and external equity administration providers, you will manage the full lifecycle of equity awards while maintaining accurate records, supporting governance processes, and identifying opportunities to improve the employee experience. This role partners closely with Finance by providing data and reporting that support stock-based compensation accounting and financial reporting but does not perform accounting activities directly.

What You'll Do
  • Administer all aspects of the company's equity and long-term incentive compensation programs, including equity awards and long-term cash incentives.

  • Process grants, vesting events, exercises, releases, cancellations, forfeitures, and employee terminations within the equity administration platform.

  • Maintain accurate participant records and ensure data integrity across equity administration systems.

  • Coordinate grant approvals, award communications, and transactions with internal stakeholders and external equity administrators.

  • Prepare recurring reports related to grants, vesting schedules, participant activity, and outstanding awards.

  • Serve as the primary resource for employee questions regarding equity awards, vesting schedules, taxation, and plan provisions.

  • Develop and maintain employee communications, guides, FAQs, and educational resources related to long-term incentive programs.

  • Support new hire orientation and ongoing employee education related to equity compensation.

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and business leaders to communicate equity awards as part of Switch's Total Rewards strategy.

  • Administer equity programs in accordance with plan documents, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Partner with Legal to support Board of Directors and Compensation Committee grant approvals and documentation.

  • Maintain processes that support SOX, SEC, GAAP, and other regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Maintain documentation supporting audits, internal controls, and regulatory reporting.

  • Coordinate insider trading compliance activities, including trading windows and employee communications.

  • Support Legal and Finance by providing data for SEC filings, proxy statements, and other regulatory reporting.

  • Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate tax withholding and reporting related to equity and long-term incentive awards.

  • Provide Finance with reports and transaction data supporting stock-based compensation accounting and financial reporting.

  • Develop dashboards and reports related to equity participation, grants, vesting activity, and program utilization.

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation, technology enhancements, and operational efficiencies.

  • Support system implementations, upgrades, testing, and process documentation.

  • Maintain standard operating procedures and documentation for equity administration activities.

What We're Looking For
  • You maintain exceptional attention to detail while managing confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

  • You communicate complex equity compensation concepts clearly and effectively.

  • You build collaborative relationships across HR, Legal, Finance, Payroll, Recruiting, and external partners.

  • You are highly organized and manage multiple priorities with accuracy and consistency.

  • You enjoy improving processes and finding opportunities to increase efficiency through automation and technology.

  • You approach challenges analytically and use sound judgment to solve problems.

  • You provide responsive, high-quality support to employees and business leaders.

  • You demonstrate integrity and accountability in all aspects of your work.

What You'll Bring

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Five or more years of experience administering equity compensation programs, stock plans, or long-term incentive programs.

  • Experience with equity administration platforms such as Fidelity, Morgan Stanley Shareworks, Equity Edge Online, Carta, or similar systems.

  • Working knowledge of equity compensation principles and equity award lifecycle administration.

  • Understanding of payroll taxation related to equity and long-term incentive awards.

  • Experience using AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, automate workflows, or enhance day-to-day work processes.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Strong written, verbal, and customer service skills.

  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting private company equity compensation plans.

  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms such as Workday, Oracle, SAP SuccessFactors, or ADP.

  • Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designation or progress toward certification.

We recognize that qualified candidates may not meet every preferred qualification. If your experience closely aligns with the core requirements of the role, we encourage you to apply.
