Citi is looking for an Equity Research Senior Associate to join its Fintech team, delivering high-quality, independent investment insights to equity investors on a global basis. In this role, you will play a central part in producing research publications, maintaining financial models, and engaging directly with clients and company management, influencing investment decisions and contributing meaningfully to the team's output. This is an opportunity to deepen your equity research expertise within a globally connected team that places a strong emphasis on analytical rigor and independence of thought.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain financial models for Fintech companies, including building new models and updating relative value frameworks to support equity research coverage.
  • Contribute to the publication of earnings previews and recaps, initiation reports, deep-dive thematic notes, and other research products distributed to investors.
  • Engage with institutional clients, both internal and external, to address research inquiries and deliver timely, well-informed responses.
  • Coordinate investor events including company management meetings, field trips, and conference calls with industry consultants.
  • Collaborate closely with senior research analysts to ensure consistent coverage quality and analytical depth across all published materials.
  • Apply sound judgment when assessing business decisions, ensuring all activities align with regulatory requirements, firm policies, and ethical standards.
  • Assume informal leadership within the team, providing guidance and mentoring to junior colleagues as the team grows.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in equity research or a closely related investment analysis function, with a focus on the Fintech sector.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles and financial modelling techniques applied to equity analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce clear, well-structured written research for an institutional investor audience.
  • Active FINRA licenses: SIE, Series 63, Series 86, and Series 87, or the ability and commitment to obtain and maintain these licenses.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and senior stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in finance, economics, or a related field.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
  • MBA, graduate degree, or CFA designation, demonstrating a commitment to advanced investment analysis and professional development.
  • Prior experience supporting senior equity research analysts within a sell-side or buy-side research environment.
  • Familiarity with Fintech subsectors such as payments, digital lending, financial infrastructure, or embedded finance.
