We are seeking an experienced ETF Capital Markets Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of direct experience in investment, trading, or portfolio management with at least 5 years focused on the ETF space. This role requires a deep understanding of the ETF ecosystem, including exchange-traded elements, market makers, authorized participants, block trading, screen markets, and managed wealth platforms.

The Capital Markets Specialist will serve as the internal ETF advocate, collaborating closely with the cross-asset portfolio management teams to optimize investment strategies taking market liquidity into consideration. You will partner with sales to deliver the best client experience for final execution, assist with product development and portfolio construction, and represent the firm at various industry events. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring ETF liquidity, building tools for liquidity analysis, and maintaining strong connectivity with market makers and banks.

Location: San Francisco, CA

Base Salary Range: $175,000–$225,000

Specific placement within the provided range will be determined by an individual’s geographic location as well as relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Associates may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon Firm and individual performance.

Responsibilities

The candidate is expected to:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the ETF ecosystem, including the roles of market makers, authorized participants, exchanges, and block trading mechanisms
  • Develop and utilize tools to monitor ETF liquidity in both primary and secondary markets
  • Maintain and expand relationships with market makers, banks, and other key participants in the ETF trading landscape
  • Engage with clients, including managed wealth platforms, to provide insights and support related to ETF trading and liquidity
  • Analyze market data using Excel, Bloomberg, FactSet, and other relevant platforms. Prepare and deliver presentations using PowerPoint
  • Support block trading and screen market activities, ensuring efficient execution and settlement
  • Present complex ETF market concepts and liquidity analyses to internal and external stakeholders with clarity and professionalism
Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in investment, trading, or portfolio management and at least 5 years with a focus on ETF space
  • In-depth knowledge of ETF market structure, including exchange-traded elements, market makers, authorized participants, block trading, and screen markets
  • Proven ability to monitor and analyze ETF liquidity in both primary and secondary markets
  • Strong connectivity and relationships within the ETF trading ecosystem, especially with market makers and banks
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Bloomberg, FactSet, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Experience working with clients, including managed wealth platforms, is highly desirable
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
