About Anthropic

Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.

About the role

As an Events Lead, Brand at Anthropic, you will own the strategy and execution of brand-focused events that create meaningful experiences and build Anthropic's share of mind in the AI landscape. You'll sit within the Marketing Events team and be responsible for conceptualizing, producing, and measuring events that authentically communicate who Anthropic is and what we stand for—from intimate thought leadership gatherings to large-scale brand activations at industry tentpole moments.

Each experience the team creates prioritizes tangible problem-solving through live demonstrations and technical deep-dives, meaningful dialogue that advances both the technology and its responsible implementation, and direct business impact through growing brand awareness and customer affinity. You'll work cross-functionally with brand creative, communications, policy, and product teams to ensure every event reinforces Anthropic's unique position as a company building safe, reliable AI.

This is an ideal role for someone who thrives at the intersection of brand storytelling and experiential production—someone who can translate a brand's values into physical and digital moments that resonate with diverse audiences, from developers to enterprise executives to policymakers.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute brand events, ensuring alignment with Anthropic's broader brand and marketing objectives, including increasing unaided awareness and establishing AI provider mindshare

  • Manage a team of full time and contracted employees

  • Lead end-to-end production of Anthropic-owned brand events, including concept development, creative direction, vendor management, on-site execution, and post-event analysis

  • Collaborate closely with the brand creative team to develop compelling event identities, spatial design concepts, and experiential elements that bring the Anthropic brand to life in three-dimensional spaces

  • Partner with communications and policy teams to produce thought leadership events, forums, and experiences that position Anthropic as a leader in responsible AI development

  • Manage Anthropic's brand presence at priority industry conferences and sponsorship activations, overseeing booth design, experiential elements, and attendee engagement strategies

  • Build scalable event playbooks, templates, and processes that maintain brand consistency and creative quality as the program grows

  • Develop and manage relationships with external production agencies, venue partners, and experiential design firms

  • Track and report on event performance metrics, connecting brand events to awareness, sentiment, and affinity goals

  • Manage event budgets and timelines, balancing creative ambition with operational rigor

  • Stay current with experiential marketing trends, emerging event technologies, and innovative formats that could elevate Anthropic's event presence

  • Support the development of "Event in a Box" toolkits and brand guidelines for partners and internal teams hosting Anthropic-adjacent experiences

You may be a good fit if you
  • Have 15+ years of experience in event marketing, experiential marketing, or brand activations, ideally at a high-growth technology company or creative agency

  • Have a strong portfolio of brand events that demonstrate your ability to translate a company's values and positioning into memorable, on-brand experiences

  • Have extensive experience managing the full event lifecycle—from strategic planning and creative concepting through production, on-site execution, and post-event measurement

  • Are skilled at working with creative teams and external agencies to develop spatial design concepts, visual identities, and experiential elements for events

  • Have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent events with competing timelines and stakeholder needs

  • Are an excellent communicator who can articulate creative vision to both internal leadership and external production partners

  • Can balance creative ambition with budget discipline and operational precision

  • Have experience building event programs from the ground up, including developing playbooks, processes, and measurement frameworks

  • Have experience with people management and can run a team

  • Are comfortable with significant travel (estimated 30-40%) to support on-site event execution

  • Are passionate about AI and excited by the challenge of creating events that make complex technology accessible and engaging

Strong candidates may also have
  • Experience producing events in the technology, AI, or enterprise software space

  • Background in spatial design, experiential production, or brand architecture

  • Experience working with policy, government, or academic audiences on thought leadership events

  • Familiarity with event technology platforms and digital/hybrid event production

  • Track record of producing events that have driven measurable brand awareness or sentiment outcomes

  • Experience developing and managing partner event programs or co-branded activations

  • Comfort operating in fast-paced, rapidly evolving environments where priorities can shift quickly

How we're different

We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.

The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.

Come work with us!

Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
