Description

Empathy is transforming the way families navigate life’s most difficult times - from the loss of a loved one to other major life transitions. By combining technology with compassionate human care, we bring clarity, comfort, and peace of mind when it matters most.

We partner with leading employers, insurers, and financial institutions to deliver meaningful, human-centric support at scale. Today, Empathy supports over 50 million people across the US, Canada, and the UK.

Backed by top-tier investors including General Catalyst, Index Ventures, Adams Street, Aleph and Entreé Capital. We've raised over $160 million to date, including a $72 million Series C, to expand our impact and scale our mission worldwide.

In this role you will

We're looking for a highly organized and proactive Executive Assistant to support our Chief Business Officer and the broader Go-to-Market organization. This is a dual-function role blending executive administration with project and operational support - ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, sweats the details, and knows how to keep senior leaders and cross-functional teams moving.

Executive Support (CBO)

  • Own and manage the CBO's calendar with a high degree of judgment - prioritizing, scheduling, and protecting time across competing demands
  • Coordinate complex domestic and international travel, including flights, hotels, ground transportation, and detailed itineraries
  • Prepare the CBO for meetings by pulling together agendas, briefing materials, and relevant context
  • Manage expense reporting and reconciliation
  • Handle ad hoc administrative tasks with discretion and a "no task too small" mindset

Go-to-Market Operations

  • Support planning and execution of GTM team programs, offsites, and cross-functional initiatives
  • Work with the Director of Revenue Operations to maintain operational cadences: meeting rhythms, QBRs, team all-hands, and leadership syncs
  • Assist with building decks, reports, and internal communications on behalf of the CBO and GTM leadership
  • Serve as a connective tissue across GTM functions, helping teams stay aligned and unblocked
Requirements
  • 2-4 years of experience in an executive assistant, chief of staff, business operations, or similar role - ideally supporting senior leadership at a fast-growing company
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously without dropping the ball
  • Strong calendar and travel management experience; comfortable operating across time zones
  • High EQ and the ability to build trust with executives, peers, and external stakeholders
  • Discreet and professional when handling sensitive or confidential information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication - you're comfortable drafting an exec brief as much as a quick Slack message
  • Comfortable in ambiguity; proactive about identifying what needs to happen without being told
  • Proficiency with productivity tools (Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, or similar)

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting a commercial or go-to-market function (sales, marketing, partnerships)
  • Familiarity with project management and AI tools (Notion, Claude, etc.)
  • Background at a high-growth startup or tech company
  • Hebrew fluency (spoken and written) — the CBO works closely with our Israeli team, and the ability to communicate directly is a meaningful advantage in this role

Why This Role

You'll have direct visibility into how a business operates at the executive level and play a meaningful role in helping the GTM org execute. This is a great fit for someone who wants to grow into a Chief of Staff or operations track.

The salary for this position is approximately $90,000-$110,000 base salary plus equity and full benefits package. The exact compensation is decided based on many factors, including but not limited to: skills, qualifications, and geographic location.

To support our employees, we offer comprehensive benefits both in and out of the office. These include premium healthcare, comprehensive paid time off, and flexible parental leave. Our bereavement care includes premium access to the Empathy platform and support for employees and their families. We support financial wellness with a company-sponsored 401(k) plan and up to a 4% employer match, along with competitive stock options. With annual retreats, team lunches for our NYC office, and a remote employee stipend, we prioritize spending time together and investing in our people. We hope you will want to join our exceptional team!
