POSITION SUMMARY:

The Executive Director, Enterprise Financial Analytics is the senior finance leader accountable for the full enterprise financial analytics function supporting Care Delivery, reporting directly to the VP & CFO, Care Delivery. This role unifies and leads five core finance teams — Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Finance Systems (Strata), Finance Reporting & Analytics (including Business Intelligence), Decision Support, and Labor Performance Management — into a single, cohesive analytics organization. With general direction and high-level autonomy, the Executive Director ensures these teams operate with shared standards, integrated data, and a common set of priorities so that system, hospital, and service-line leaders receive consistent, trustworthy financial information to guide strategic and operational decisions. This is an enterprise-wide leadership role across BMCHS Care Delivery finance.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  • Serve as a strategic finance partner to the VP & CFO, Care Delivery and senior operational leaders, translating complex financial and analytic findings into clear recommendations that support enterprise decision-making, board reporting, and performance management.
  • Lead the Financial Planning and Analysis team in developing the annual operating and capital budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plans for the Care Delivery enterprise, ensuring alignment with organizational strategic priorities and financial targets.
  • Direct the Labor Performance Management team in monitoring productivity, labor cost trends, and staffing efficiency metrics across Care Delivery, partnering with operational leaders to identify and act on labor variance and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Direct the Corporate Finance Systems team's administration, governance, and continuous optimization of the Strata platform and related finance technology, ensuring system integrity, data accuracy, and scalability to support enterprise-wide planning and reporting needs.
  • Set the enterprise financial analytics strategy and operating model across financial planning and analysis, corporate finance systems, finance reporting and business intelligence, decision support, and labor performance management, ensuring each function delivers timely, accurate, and decision-ready financial information to the VP & CFO, Care Delivery and system leadership.
  • Oversee the Finance Reporting & Analytics and Business Intelligence teams in producing standardized financial reporting, dashboards, and self-service analytics tools that give executive and operational leaders timely visibility into financial performance.
  • Guide the Decision Support team in delivering service-line, departmental, and program-level cost, margin, and utilization analyses that inform investment decisions, contract negotiations, and operational performance improvement initiatives.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; and 12-15 years of progressive finance leadership experience, including financial planning, decision support, or analytics roles, with at least 7-8 years in a healthcare or health system environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or related) and progressive healthcare corporate finance leadership experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSAs):

  • Healthcare Finance Expertise: Deep knowledge of healthcare financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and decision support methodologies within a complex, multi-entity health system.
  • Systems Literacy: Working knowledge of the Strata financial planning platform, or comparable enterprise finance/EPM and business intelligence systems (e.g., Axiom, Syntellis, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Organizational Leadership: Advanced skills in leading, integrating, and driving change across multiple finance functions into a unified, enterprise-wide operating model.
  • Analytical Power: Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insight for executive decision-making.
  • Executive Communication: Excellent executive communication and presentation skills, including the ability to brief C-suite and board-level audiences.
  • Talent Management: Ability to lead, develop, and retain a multi-disciplinary team of finance directors, managers, and analysts across distinct functional areas.
  • Strategic Influence: Ability to operate as a strategic thought partner to the VP & CFO, Care Delivery and senior operational leadership, including influence without direct authority.

Compensation Range:

$198,500.00- $288,000.00

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
