Oversee nightside newscasts at KRON4, leading team to deliver accurate news coverage, mentor journalists, and innovate streaming content.
KRON4, the Bay Area’s Local News Station, is seeking an experienced Nightside Executive Producer to oversee our nightside newscasts and lead the continued growth and evolution of our streaming programming. We are looking for a forward‑thinking newsroom leader with a strong breaking‑news background, a sharp eye for detail, and a passion for mentoring others-someone energized by developing innovative, audience‑focused streaming content.
This is a regular, full‑time, management, non‑union, exempt position, based at our San Francisco studio on the Embarcadero.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a team of producers and reporters to deliver comprehensive, compelling, and accurate news coverage
- Contribute to the editorial process and lead breaking news coverage across platforms
- Review and approve scripts, rundowns, and video to ensure high journalistic standards
- Provide regular, constructive feedback to producers and reporters and conduct annual performance reviews
- Lead the editorial vision for nightside streaming shows, with an emphasis on innovation, audience growth, and platform‑specific storytelling
- Develop, refine, and advance new streaming formats and shows, including breaking news and enterprise programming
- Line produce newscasts on an as‑needed basis
- Prioritize and reinforce KRON4’s safety‑first culture for field crews and reporters
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 years of producing experience in a mid‑ to major‑market newsroom
- Strong news judgment and a demonstrated commitment to journalistic integrity
- Ability to collaborate effectively with newsroom managers, anchors, reporters, assignment desk editors, and production staff
- Ability to line produce newscasts as needed and edit video
- College degree in journalism, communications, or equivalent professional experience
Compensation: $95,000+ commensurate with experience and skill level
