Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Portland Environment, Health, and Safety organization has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Chemical Process Specialist (CPM) to come join our team located in Portland, OR.
The EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) team supports the fabrication and assembly for current and next generation commercial aircraft.
The ideal candidate will utilize Chemical Processing concepts, manufacturing operations knowledge and business acumen to partner with cross functional teams from production operations, facilities, and supporting organizations to achieve and sustain an incident and injury free workplace to ensure business goals and objectives are met.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Identifies chemical process hazards and works to resolve associated risks in an effort to ensure a safe, reliable and compliant operation of chemical processing activities.
  • Coordinates changes to chemical processing operations, the development of process safety information and command media with all appropriate organizations.
  • Conducts investigations on chemical processing incidents and failures to assure closed loop corrective action.
  • Makes recommendations on new construction, maintenance of and changes to facilities, systems equipment and processes.
  • Evaluates risks, costs, performance, mechanical integrity and safety aspects of chemical processing operations and recommends necessary changes to management.
  • Supports production operation teams through problem solving
  • Communicates effectively with individual contributors, managers and executive leadership to share data, project plans, actions and results

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. Some travel to other Fabrication locations to support chemical processing programs will be required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ years of experience with chemical processes
  • 3+ years of experience performing in chemical engineering and/or applied chemistry practices
  • 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing/production environment
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline
  • 6+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced communication skills with internal personnel and external customers on routine matters
  • Experience working with cross functional teams to develop positive relationships with the team

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $98,600 - $133,400
