Dates: Monday, August 31, 2026- November 27, 2026
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am-3pm (Commitment of minimum of 12 hours a week- partial days, full days, 2 days, 3 days, 5 days available- we work with your school schedule!) Compensation: This is an unpaid internship

About Includ(Ed)
Includ(Ed) is a non-profit, early intervention-focused, full-time preschool that provides high-quality, inclusive education for children with and without disabilities. Our mission is to increase access to quality early childhood education and childcare by fostering an inclusive, relationship-centered, and play-based learning environment.
Internship Overview
This summer internship offers a unique opportunity for college students or pre-professionals pursuing careers in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Music Therapy, Early Childhood Education, or Special Education. Interns will gain hands-on experience working with children aged 0–5 support classroom activities, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of educators and therapists.
You’ll be paired with a mentor from your field of interest, offering personalized guidance, professional insights, and opportunities to shadow therapy sessions and classroom interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers and therapists in implementing inclusive, play-based learning activities.
- Assist with individual and small-group interventions, including speech, OT, and music therapy sessions.
- Engage children in developmentally appropriate play and learning experiences.
- Help create and organize classroom materials and visual supports.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to discussions around child development and inclusion practices.
- Collaborate with therapists and educators to observe and learn therapeutic techniques and teaching strategies.
- Support children with and without disabilities in accessing the preschool day.
Qualifications:
- Current college student or pre-professional interested in pursuing a degree in OT, Speech Therapy, Music Therapy, Education, Special Education, Child Development, or related fields.
- Passion for inclusive education and working with young children.
- Reliable, flexible, and eager to learn.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience with children is a plus but not required.
