Position Title: Federal Work Study - University  


Department Name: Federal Work Study


Position Reports To: Associate Director, Financial Aid


FLSA STATUS:  Non-Exempt


Hourly Rate: $19.18


Benefits: Limited University's benefits


Days & Hours:  Variable weekly schedule to be established by supervisor. Positions may be in-person, hybrid, or remote. Flexible schedule depending on class schedule.     


BASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF JOB:


All potential Federal Work Study Student Assistants must be approved for and awarded Federal Work Study funding via the Golden Gate University Financial Aid Office.


GGU Financial Aid Office maintains a pool of qualified individuals who would like to provide administrative assistance or community service as a Federal Work Study Student Assistant. At this time there may not be an immediate vacancy, but candidates may provide their application to this posting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  1. Serve as Federal Work Study Student Assistant, on campus administrative assistance.

Some functions may include:

  • Data entry
  • Receiving and distributing mail
  • Answering phones
  • Provide back-up for front office functions
  • General office support including filing, faxing, scanning, and photocopying
  • Other duties as required

      2. Serve as Federal Work Study Student Assistant, off campus community service.

  • Job Responsibilities and job descriptions will be provided by the off-campus agencies.
  • Community Service position includes reading tutor for children in a reading tutoring project that serves the community.

 

Qualifications

Applicants must be matriculated at Golden Gate University and must be currently enrolled at least half time with Federal Work Study Eligibility based on the FAFSA.


Excellent oral and written communication skills

Excellent analytic, clerical, and computer skills

Initiative and openness to evolving responsibilities and work environments

Sound command of the academic subject

Strong attention to detail
