Skillsoft is undergoing a bold growth marketing transformation, and we’re looking for a Field Marketing Manager to help lead the charge in the Public Sector. This is a high-impact individual contributor role focused on US FED (Federal) and SLED (State, Local, and Education) segments, where strategic field marketing plays a critical role in driving awareness, engagement, and pipeline.

You’ll serve as the voice of the public sector field to global marketing, ensuring government-specific needs are reflected in global plans, while translating those plans into localized execution that resonates with public institutions. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow your applied AI skillset, deepen your understanding of government buying cycles, and contribute to Skillsoft’s mission to upskill the workforce across regulated and mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Public Sector Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute field marketing plans tailored to FED/SLED priorities, procurement cycles, and compliance requirements.
  • Campaign Execution: Activate corporate campaigns with public sector relevance, including ILT (Instructor-Led Training) promotions and platform-led messaging for government audiences.
  • Sales Enablement: Partner with public sector sales teams to deliver tools and content aligned to government pain points, funding cycles, and decision-making structures.
  • Event Management: Lead public sector-specific events such as government roundtables, education summits, and compliance-focused webinars.
  • Performance Tracking: Measure pipeline contribution, ILT session registration, and brand perception lift within public sector segments.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ensure public sector insights inform global campaign planning and that regional execution reflects Skillsoft’s broader GTM strategy.

Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B marketing, with at least 2 years in a field or regional marketing role.
  • Experience marketing to public sector audiences (Federal, State, Local, Education) with understanding of government procurement and compliance.
  • Familiarity with government contracting vehicles, RFP processes, and public sector sales cycles.
  • Proven success in driving pipeline and engagement in regulated industries.
  • Experience with marketing automation and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Marketo) in a public sector context.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% within North America.
  • Experience in the SaaS or technology industry.
  • Familiarity with account-based marketing (ABM) strategies.
  • Data-driven mindset with a passion for testing and optimization.

Target base salary range for this job requisition is anticipated to be approximately $105,000 - $145,000 annually.

We also offer Enterprise benefits including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, and paid time off.

The company may modify salaries, salary ranges and/or Pay Plans from time to time as it deems necessary.

  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
