You will:

  • Lead the development and execution of strategies that enable scaleable, efficient and controlled procure to pay processes globally including: purchase requisitions, PO management, supplier management, and payments, including the design and rollout of modern procurement orchestration tools (e.g., Oro) and scaling our international P2P system architecture to support global growth.
  • Act as an expert in Finance Operations across multiple areas and processes, providing thought leadership and new approaches to enhance the organization's effectiveness, as well as managing and developing a high performing team. 
  • Partner with the Business Systems Engineering team and other cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize and develop requirements for procurement projects to enable the ongoing transformation and continuous improvement of systems and processes.
  • Evaluate information or data to draw conclusions, generate solutions, evaluate outcomes, adding value to business objectives by proactively identifying impactful opportunities and/or gaps in systems and workflows.
  • Prioritize resources (e.g., people, budget) and work stream(s) needed to execute the assigned activities, effectively managing work performed internally and through third party service providers, ensuring appropriate service level agreements to measure effectiveness.
  • Define risk mitigation and compliance procure to pay processes, driving solutions to mitigate risk or preemptive issues from recurring.
  • Use AI strategically to drive productivity, creativity, and innovation. Coach the team to seek out opportunities for human-AI collaboration and quickly learn new skills to transform how work gets done.

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related field
  • 12-15+ yrs experience in Finance Operations or Process Optimization, including 8+ years managing/ leadership in a rapid growth environment
  • Ability to identify and implement financial processes optimizations to drive greater efficiency, accuracy, and reliability in areas such as budgeting, reporting, forecasting, compliance, operations, and financial controls
  • Ability to monitor the risk environment and provide insights to enable effective financial risk management and control in relevant areas (e.g., internal reporting, regulatory filing, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Statutory Financial Statements (SFS)
  • Ability to apply standards-based practices, documented procedures, service-level agreements (SLAs), location and timezone strategies, capacity planning, quality control, issues resolution, and oversight of outsourcing partners to achieve efficient and effective business outcomes.
  • Ability to lead, develop, and support a team to deliver impact by setting goals, removing obstacles, building skills, fostering collaboration, and creating a positive, high-performing team culture.
  • Highly effective communicator and influencer (written, verbal and interpersonal skills)
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment

We prefer:

  • MBA, Master's degree or CPA.
  • Manufacturing industry experience with both direct and indirect purchasing processes
  • Industry knowledge or interest in the rideshare, automotive, or autonomous vehicle industries 
  • Demonstrable success in building, leading and developing successful Finance Operations teams
  • 5+ years experience working with procurement systems in SAP, SAP S/4 Public Cloud, Ariba and/or Ariba Guided Buying tools

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the role location or, if the role can be performed remote, the specific salary range for your preferred location, during the hiring process. 

Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
