Job Description

Pay Range: $81,450 - $101,825 per year.

Assist in financial support to Business Unit Marketing Management and related Sales Management to drive short and long-term business decisions for the purpose of attainment of business unit and Company goals. Create value through relevant and objective insight. Assist in financial planning and analysis of business results, development of projects, and administration of profit forecasts.

Essential job functions:

  • Assist in business analyses and forecasting to identify potential opportunities in current practices. For example, P&L analysis to recommend cost savings and/or revenue generating opportunities, cost center analysis (freight, marketing, etc.) to recommend cost savings and/or process improvement opportunities, perform variance analysis to identify trends and budget deviations, Information System Analysis to recommend cost savings and/or process improvement/automation opportunities.
  • Participate in developing strategic options with principal responsibility for quantifying alternative business strategies.
  • Participate in business valuation modeling, analysis, and recommendations. (For example, promotion effectiveness, bird size initiative, etc.).
  • Assist in administering financial criteria for growth (capacity planning, new products, and/or businesses opportunities) and cost improvement initiatives (facilities utilization, capital projects, etc.).
  • Utilize and assist in development of corporate systems — past examples include Demand Planning, Business Warehouse, and Power BI.
  • Assist in financial analysis and insights to support informed decision-making by management — i.e., meat sourcing and trade-offs.
  • Establish strong partnerships with business units and cross-functional teams to gain understanding of operational challenges and structure information resources accordingly.
  • Develop financial reporting required to monitor business outcomes.
  • Post-audit initiatives as appropriate.
  • Provide financial analysis support to cross functional teams as needed.

Additional Functions:

  • In the absence of certain key financial positions, may be used as an interim resource.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance
  • One year of experience in financial management or accounting with a demonstrated ability to process improve
  • Proficient with computer applications
  • Must be self-motivated, assertive, objective, and resourceful
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment

Preferred Requirements:

  • One to two years’ experience in financial planning & analysis
  • Experience with consumer products, commodities perishable foods, and/or integrated poultry
  • Demonstrated presentation skills with both large and small groups
