Role Description

You'll embed with our enterprise customers as the engineer who makes Valdera work in their world. Every customer is different: their data lives in different systems, in different shapes, behind different rules. Discovery will be a big part of this job. You'll spend time sitting with a customer, figuring out where their data actually lives, what it looks like, and what it takes to connect it to Valdera. Often that means ERP and procurement data, but no two integrations look the same, and part of your job is figuring out what the patterns are.

You'll sit at the intersection of product, engineering, and the customer. When a customer wants their data flowing into Valdera or a workflow configured, you're the one spearheading that effort with them. This will include writing real code, building real integrations, and debugging real production issues, all while working closely with their procurement and IT team or presenting to their leadership. It's an engineering role with a customer in the room, and the engineers who thrive here find that combination energizing, not draining.

Role Responsibilities

  • Own the technical side of customer relationships, from discovery and implementation through integration, workflow configuration, and go-live.
  • Run the customer discovery. Find where each customer's data lives, understand its shape and rules, and figure out what it takes to connect it to Valdera.
  • Build integrations with customer ERP, procurement, and finance systems like SAP, Oracle, Coupa, and Ariba.
  • Run technical calls end to end, from discovery and architecture through live debugging and executive readouts.
  • Handle the realities of enterprise data, where formats are messy, schemas mismatch, and things need validation, retries, and graceful degradation.
  • Prototype fast, then harden what sticks into scalable, production-worthy solutions.
  • Adapt to global time zones to support our customer's needs globally.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Engineering fundamentals: Solid engineering fundamentals and experience shipping production software. We care more about fundamentals than exact-stack trivia.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: Customer environments will all look different, and you need to be able to walk in understanding the fundamentals of what's needed, even if the way to get there may be different by customer
  • Intellectually curious & customer first: You're genuinely curious about the customer's problem and excited to dig into the weeds to solve something new.
  • Strong communicator: You can communicate written and verbally with a customer's procurement team, their tech team, and our engineering team all in ways that make sense to them.
  •
    Nice to have
    • Prior forward deployed, solutions, sales, or implementation engineering experience at an enterprise software company.
    • Familiarity with procurement, finance, or ERP ecosystems, especially SAP (Oracle, NetSuite, Coupa, Ariba a plus).
    • Familiarity with chemical or raw materials procurement, HS codes, or CAS numbers.

Salary Range:

Salary ranges are determined by multiple factors, including the labor market, market compensation bands, internal parity, and budget considerations. The final offer will be based on the candidate’s individual skills, qualifications, location, and experience relative to the requirements of the role.
Range: $150-200k

Benefits:

Valdera offers generous benefits to employees. Full time employees are eligible for premium healthcare, dental, and vision insurance coverage. You will be provided a more detailed breakdown of your options prior to joining Valdera.
