Strada is building the operating layer for AI-driven insurance.
Our platform deploys expert AI agents across calls, texts, emails, and chat - running core front-office workflows from policy servicing to claims intake. With a singular focus on insurance, Strada offers domain expertise and product depth that generic AI platforms can’t match.
Backed by Y Combinator and top-tier investors, Strada already automates more than 1M customer interactions for leading insurers, MGAs, and brokers representing $10B+ in annual premiums. Adoption is accelerating across the industry.
Insurance is one of the largest and most complex industries in the world, and modern AI has the potential to fundamentally reshape how it operates. Strada is replacing fragmented workflows with AI-native infrastructure that runs real operations at scale - at the intersection of AI, infrastructure, and highly regulated real-world systems.
We’re a small, high-ownership team based in San Francisco, already embedded in production systems at sophisticated insurance organizations. If you want to move fast, solve hard problems, and shape the future of a massive industry, let’s meet.
Why Insurance?Insurance quietly powers the global economy - it helps businesses stay open, families recover from disasters, and entire industries manage risk. But the way insurance operates hasn’t changed in decades. Many frontline workflows still rely on phone calls and legacy systems.
We’re building AI that plugs into those workflows and makes them radically faster, smarter, and more efficient. It’s a $300B+ market ripe for innovation.
The RoleWe’re looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to join us in-person at our SF office. You’ll work directly with customers to understand their operations, then design and deploy voice AI agents that drive real business outcomes.
This role blends technical execution with product thinking, prompt design, and hands-on problem solving. You’ll own everything from API integrations to conversation flows to customer onboarding. As an early team member, you’ll have a direct line to shaping the product and how we work with customers.
What you’ll get done in the first weekDeploy your first voice agent configuration to production - no lengthy onboarding, you’re contributing immediately
Shadow live customer calls and review real transcripts to understand how our AI agents handle thousands of automated insurance conversations daily
Meet the team, sit in on customer syncs, and start identifying areas where you can have an immediate impact
Own a customer deployment end-to-end - from scoping their workflows to configuring and launching voice agents that handle real calls
Debug and optimize live agents using transcripts, performance data, and customer feedback
Build intuition for the insurance domain
Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, acting as the technical bridge between their operations and our product
Translate recurring customer problems into product insights that shape the roadmap
Build internal tooling and processes that make future deployments faster and more reliable
Have a real seat at the table on product and customer strategy as an early team member at a high-growth company
2+ years of relevant, post-college work experience
Strong problem-solving skills and enthusiasm for tackling technical challenges involving data systems, cloud infrastructure, and API integrations
A customer-first mindset with strong communication skills - you can explain technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences
Track record of owning projects end-to-end in fast-moving environments
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Experience with prompt engineering or working with AI/LLM-based platforms
Familiarity with TypeScript, React, and Node.js
Prior experience in insurance, fintech, or similarly regulated industries
Experience as an early-stage startup engineer or founder
