Lance (YC W26) builds AI agents that help hotels run their operations across reception, sales, and housekeeping.

We are hiring a Forward Deployment Engineer to help deploy Lance in live hotel environments, integrate with customers’ existing software, and solve technical challenges as they arise. This is a highly cross-functional, customer-facing engineering role for someone who enjoys owning problems from implementation through production.

You will work closely with hotel operators and internal product and engineering teams to ensure Lance delivers reliable, measurable value in real-world workflows.

What you’ll do

• Deploy and configure Lance for hotel customers

• Integrate Lance with customer systems and operational workflows

• Troubleshoot technical issues and ship fixes directly to production

• Partner with hotel general managers and operational teams to understand needs and translate them into product improvements

• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve implementation processes and product reliability

• Own customer deployments end to end, from initial setup through ongoing optimization

What we’re looking for

• 1+ years of experience shipping software, implementing technical products, or deploying solutions for customers

• Strong programming ability and comfort working across software systems and integrations

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• A practical, ownership-oriented mindset and willingness to work through ambiguous problems

• Strong academic or professional track record

• Authorization to work in the United States

• Ability to work on-site in San Francisco
