Own and extend Rightway’s commercial systems, especially Salesforce, by building Apex, Lightning Web Components, integrations, automations, and AI-powered tools. Improve commercial data quality, connect systems to the central data warehouse, and deliver solutions for sales and client success teams. The role is the first dedicated commercial systems engineer, with potential to mentor and manage future team members.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Founding Commercial Systems Engineer is the first dedicated engineer for Rightway's commercial organization. We've synthesized a strong commercial stack including Salesforce, Highspot, Gong, Tribble, and other tools — but we've never had a technical role to build on top of it, connect it, and push it further. That's this role. You'll architect and build the tooling, automation, and AI that our commercial teams run on, turning the systems we already have into a connected engine that helps the business sell, retain, and grow. It's a rare first-engineer opportunity: the foundation is in place, and you get to build the layer that makes it exceptional.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Own and build our commercial systems. Be the technical owner of Salesforce and our commercial stack — architecting it, wiring the tools together, and writing the code that configuration can't handle (Apex, Lightning/LWC, APIs) to build custom tooling and integrations. This end-to-end ownership is what gives you the vantage point to fix what's underneath.
  • Make our data trustworthy. Use that ownership to get our commercial data clean, consistent, and reliable — building whatever it takes (automations, controls, standards, pipelines) to fix it at the source and keep it that way — then feed it into the company's central warehouse, partnering with Data & Insights on what's captured and how it's used. Trustworthy data is the bedrock everything else is built on.
  • Build the tools that give reps and client success teams an edge. Ship the automation and AI that make the team sharper and faster — deal briefs that assemble everything known about an opportunity, finalist prep, renewal-risk alerts for Client Success, and AI agents that surface at-risk deals and next steps on their own.
  • Grow the function. Potential to mentor and manage a team member over time, and help shape how the commercial engineering function grows as the business scales.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • A hands-on builder who can independently own systems, data, and tooling end to end
  • Deeply experienced in Salesforce (5+ years), with at least 3 writing Apex in production
  • Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I/II, Administrator)
  • Owned a production integration between Salesforce and an external system
  • Shipped Lightning Web Components used daily by a sales or client success team
  • AI-forward and curious — you actively explore and build with new tools, including AI and automation. You have shipped an AI powered tool a business team actually used, not a demo
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building from scratch in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable owning sandboxes, version control, and deployments
  • A systems thinker who reimagines how things work rather than just maintaining the status quo
  • A strong partner to non-technical teams who can turn business needs into working solutions
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented, with strong ownership and follow-through
  • A clear communicator who can make complex systems easy to understand

EXTRA CREDIT:

  • Experience in a Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, or Commercial Systems engineering role
  • Experience working with data warehouses and modern data/BI tooling

COMPENSATION:  $142,000-$188,000 + bonus

Compensation offered will be determined by geographic location, experience, and qualifications.

HOW WE LIVE OUR VALUES TO OUR TEAMMATES:

We’re seeking those with passion for healthcare and relentless devotion to our goal. We need team members that embody our core values:

1) We are human, first
Our humanity binds us together. We bring the same empathetic approach to every individual we engage with, whether it be our members, our clients, or each other. We are all worthy of respect and understanding and we engage in our interactions with care and intention. We honor our stories. We listen to—and hear—each other, we celebrate our differences and similarities, we are present for each other, and we strive for mutual understanding.

2) We redefine what is possible
We always look beyond the obstacles in front of us to imagine new solutions. We approach our work with inspiration from other industries, other leaders, and other challenges. We use ingenuity and resourcefulness when faced with tough problems.

3) We debate then commit
We believe that a spirit of open discourse is part of a healthy culture. We understand and appreciate different perspectives and we challenge our assumptions. When working toward a decision or a new solution, we actively listen to one another, approach it with a “yes, and” mentality, and assume positive intent. Once a decision is made, we align and champion it as one team.

4) We cultivate grit
Changing healthcare doesn’t happen overnight. We reflect and learn from challenges and approach the future with a determination to strive for better. In the face of daunting situations, we value persistence. We embrace failure as a stepping stone to future success. On this journey, we seek to act with guts, resilience, initiative, and tenacity.

5) We seek to delight
Healthcare is complicated and personal. We work tirelessly to meet the goals of our clients while also delivering the best experience to our members. We recognize that no matter the role or team, we each play a crucial part in our members’ care and take that responsibility seriously. When faced with an obstacle, we are kind, respectful, and solution-oriented in our approach. We hold ourselves accountable to our clients and our members’ success.

We foster an inclusive culture where differences are celebrated to drive the best business decisions possible. We do not discriminate on any basis protected by applicable law.
