Who We Are

UniversalAGI is building OpenAI for Physics. AI startup based in San Francisco and backed by Elad Gil (#1 Solo VC), Eric Schmidt (former Google CEO), Prith Banerjee (ANSYS CTO), Ion Stoica (Databricks Founder), Jared Kushner (former Senior Advisor to the President), David Patterson (Turing Award Winner), and Luis Videgaray (former Foreign and Finance Minister of Mexico). We're building foundation AI models for physics that enable end-to-end industrial automation from initial design through optimization, validation, and production.

About the Role

As a founding Full Stack Product Engineer, you'll be in the arena from day one, building the product experiences that put AI physics capabilities into the hands of engineers and customers. This is your chance to build and own the entire product stack, from intuitive simulation interfaces to backend APIs that power complex physics workloads in production.

You'll work directly with the CEO and founding team to build product features that make foundation models accessible to industrial engineers, create interfaces that visualize complex physics simulations, and design workflows that seamlessly integrate AI into existing engineering processes. You're creating new paradigms for how engineers interact with AI-powered physics simulation tools.

What You'll Do

  • Build customer-facing applications that make complex physics simulations intuitive and accessible, creating dashboards, visualization tools, and interfaces for foundation model interactions

  • Design and implement robust backend APIs that power our product features, handle simulation workflows, and integrate with our ML infrastructure and customer systems

  • Own the full product development cycle from concept to production, shipping features that solve real customer problems and working directly with users to iterate based on feedback

  • Create data visualization and analytics tools that help engineers understand simulation results, model performance, and physics insights in real-time

  • Build fine-tuning and customization interfaces that let customers adapt our foundation models through intuitive UIs without needing to write code or understand ML internals

  • Develop integration tools and SDKs that make it easy for customers to embed our physics AI into their existing CAE workflows, design tools, and simulation pipelines

  • Design real-time collaboration features that enable engineering teams to work together on simulations, share results, and iterate on designs

  • Build customer portals and admin tools for model deployment, usage monitoring, billing, and self-service configuration

  • Instrument everything: Build analytics, logging, and observability into every product feature to understand how customers use the product and where they struggle

  • Work directly with customers on their workflows, pain points, and feature requests, turning customer conversations into shipped product improvements

  • Move fast and ship: Take features from prototype to production in days, not months, iterating based on real customer feedback and usage data

This is a role for someone who loves building product that customers actually use, who can move between frontend polish and backend complexity with ease, and is ready to define what AI-powered physics simulation software looks like.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full stack development experience building and shipping customer-facing products, ideally at fast-moving startups or product-focused companies

  • Strong frontend skills: Expert-level proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern web development. Experience building complex, performant UIs with excellent UX

  • Solid backend foundation: Strong experience with Node.js, Python, or Go for building APIs, services, and backend systems. Comfortable with databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)

  • Product mindset: Deep understanding of product development, user experience, and the ability to translate customer needs into shipped features

  • API design expertise: Experience designing clean, scalable REST or GraphQL APIs that power complex applications

  • Data visualization skills: Experience with visualization libraries (D3.js, Three.js, Plotly, etc.) and creating interfaces for complex data

  • Strong system design abilities: Can architect scalable full stack applications, make smart tradeoff decisions, and understand performance implications

  • Outstanding execution velocity: Ships features rapidly, debugs efficiently, and thrives in fast-paced environments

  • Strong communicator: Can talk to customers, understand their workflows, and translate technical capabilities into product features they'll love

  • Ownership mentality: Takes full responsibility for features from concept through deployment, monitoring, and iteration

Bonus Qualifications

  • CAE/simulation software experience: Familiarity with ANSYS, COMSOL, OpenFOAM, or other engineering simulation tools

  • Experience building products for technical users (engineers, data scientists, researchers) who have complex workflows and high expectations

  • 3D visualization and rendering experience: Knowledge of WebGL, Three.js, or similar technologies for visualizing physics simulations

  • Built products integrated with ML models or AI systems, understanding how to surface AI capabilities through great UX

  • Experience with real-time applications: WebSockets, real-time collaboration features, or streaming data

  • DevOps and deployment experience: Comfortable with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and production operations

  • Enterprise software experience: Built B2B products with SSO, RBAC, audit logging, and compliance features

  • Design sensibility: Strong eye for UI/UX design and can work effectively with or without a dedicated designer

  • Experience at high-growth startups (Seed to Series C) or product-led companies where shipping velocity is critical

  • Open-source contributions to product frameworks, developer tools, or visualization libraries
