Compensation & benefits
Because you believe time is life’s most precious asset, and that time with the people you care about most is worth obsessing over. You want to build something that genuinely helps people organize their daily lives and feel more present in them. Because you want to work on a small, high-talent-density consumer tech team, alongside people who have built and scaled products at places like Uber, Uber Eats, Airbnb, Faire, and Snowflake, and who bring both hard-won experience and a sense of perspective to the work. And because you’re excited to dream big, start small, and help build something enduring that shows up in everyday life.
Babs is building the smart collaborative operating system for modern households and families. Most AI tools are designed for work life, but managing home life is its own full-time job filled with fragmented information, complex logistics, multiple constituencies, and constant context switching. Babs acts as a second brain that brings order to everyday life by connecting information, workflows, and decisions into one intelligent system.
Our edge is our ability to make complex systems feel simple, derived from over a decade of experience serving in global consumer tech and analog Babs roles alike. Our strength is our team: driven, thoughtful builders with world-class experience united by a shared mission to give people the power to live organized lives and organized minds.
Babs is backed by Accel, the leading VC firm investing in AI with $26bn+ under management and investments in Scale AI, Vercel, Anthropic, Cursor, and Babs.
We’re looking for a Full-Stack Product Engineer to help design and build the Babs experience from end to end. You’ll work across the stack, from the interfaces that families touch every day to the systems that make them intelligent and responsive.
This role is ideal for an engineer who loves building intuitive, high-impact products and thrives at the intersection of design, data, and AI. You’ll own features from concept to production, blending craft and speed to deliver user experiences that feel effortless on the surface but are deeply connected behind the scenes. You’ll work directly with the founder, design, product, and platform teams to shape the foundations of our app and set the patterns for performance, reliability, and beauty that will define Babs as we scale.
- Design and build full-stack projects end-to-end: from prototypes to foundational platform elements that connect frontend experiences to backend systems and AI workflows
- Build intuitive, responsive interfaces that make complex interactions feel simple and meaningful
- Partner closely with design to translate prototypes into production-ready experiences
- Collaborate with platform engineers to integrate APIs, event pipelines, and real-time data flows
- Ensure quality through thoughtful code structure, testing, and observability
- Contribute to architectural discussions around scalability, performance, and developer experience
- Move quickly, experiment responsibly, and iterate with users in mind
- Help shape early engineering culture and product development rhythms
- 4+ years of experience building high-quality consumer-facing web and mobile applications
- Enthusiasm working in AI-native development environments, regularly using AI IDEs to code
- Strong fluency in JavaScript or TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (React or React Native)
- Significant experience in backend API development, including familiarity with authentication/authorization and relational data modeling
- A deep respect for design and the user experience, with strong attention to detail
- The ability to balance startup pace with quality and maintainability
- A deep desire to be surrounded by a top notch, earned-through-experience team
- Base salary range: $150,000 – $200,000, depending on experience and expertise
- Competitive equity package: up to 1.5%, depending on experience
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage through Sequoia benefits
- Flexible PTO and a work culture built on trust and autonomy
- A team that values craftsmanship, collaboration, and purpose over fluff
If you’re excited by our mission, we’d love to meet you — even if you don’t check every box. We care about curiosity, integrity, and a good sense of humor.
