Title: Founding GTM & Business Operations - Thorin

Location: San Francisco
Company: Thorin
Stage: Seed | Incubated at 8VC

About Thorin

Thorin is an applied AI company born out of 8VC’s Build program, focused on redefining how work gets done inside modern organizations. We build proactive, long-horizon AI agents that continuously observe work across Slack, email, meetings, and documents—and take action so nothing falls through the cracks.

Unlike traditional AI tools that wait for prompts or rely on structured systems, Thorin creates a real-time digital twin of how a business actually operates, enabling automation, coordination, and insight over months and years. Backed by 8VC and built with product vision from Joe Lonsdale, Thorin is building foundational infrastructure for agentic, AI-powered productivity.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Founding GTM & BizOps to help Thorin grow from zero to one. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who thrives in early-stage environments and wants to shape both the company’s early revenue engine and operational backbone.

You’ll act as a force multiplier to the CEO, directly supporting GTM execution, early customer relationships, and company-wide operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys switching between strategic thinking, operational execution, and customer-facing work, and who wants a front-row seat at a company being built from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

GTM / Customer-Facing Responsibilities

  • Own Thorin’s end-to-end go-to-market strategy, from ICP definition to repeatable sales motion

  • Identify, recruit, and manage early design partners and lighthouse customers

  • Lead early customer conversations — discovery calls, demos, pilots, and closes

  • Shape positioning, messaging, and pricing based on real customer feedback

  • Partner closely with engineering and product to inform roadmap and prioritization

  • Build early sales infrastructure: CRM, pipelines, metrics, and feedback loops

  • Develop enablement materials: pitch decks, demo narratives, onboarding flows

  • Help determine when and how to scale sales, marketing, and partnerships

BizOps Responsibilities

  • Act as a direct extension of the CEO to drive alignment, follow-through, and execution across the company

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives (launches, implementations, partnerships) to ensure smooth operations

  • Manage CEO priorities, prepare materials for key meetings, and translate decisions into actionable plans

  • Build and optimize processes and systems across GTM, product, and operations

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of experience in early-stage GTM, BizOps, Chief of Staff, or generalist roles

  • Experience selling B2B SaaS or AI-native products, ideally into technical or operations-heavy teams

  • Proven ability to operate without a playbook and build systems from scratch

  • Strong discovery skills — can uncover real pain points and translate them into urgency

  • Comfort operating across strategy, execution, and customer-facing work

  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills

  • Excellent communication and storytelling — can align teams and inspire confidence externally

  • High ownership mindset — proactive, resourceful, and able to work with minimal direction

  • Comfortable with data, dashboards, CRM tools, and basic GTM metrics

  • Thrives in ambiguity, enjoys switching between big-picture thinking and hands-on execution

  • Trustworthy and discreet, with the judgment to handle sensitive information

Bonus

  • Experience selling workflow automation, productivity, or AI-driven tools

  • Background in enterprise or mid-market sales cycles

  • Experience in operational analytics, process modeling, or enterprise systems

  • Previous experience in seed or Series A startups

About the Team & Why Thorin

  • Work closely with a small, highly driven founding team, design partners, and directly with Joe Lonsdale, who remains deeply involved in product vision, strategy, and hiring

  • Operate with high agency, rapid iteration, and direct customer exposure from day one

  • Help define how a category-defining AI company goes to market from first principles

  • Own customers, strategy, and early revenue in a zero-to-one environment

  • Build with the backing of one of the strongest early-stage venture platforms in the industry
