About Greenlight Robotics
Greenlight Robotics is building public transit technology that makes communities more efficient, accessible, and vibrant, and we’re building a team of people who care deeply about how cities are run. We’re hiring our first core team of engineers to deliver the initial production version of our system to early transit customers. You will be hands-on building cutting-edge technology that will strengthen the public systems moving billions of people every day.

About The Role
We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to build the prediction and planning models of our product. Reporting directly to our Co-founder & CTO, you will own the training, validation, dataset curation, and deployment of the models powering our vehicle intelligence technologies. This role offers an extremely high learning velocity, and you will work directly alongside the founders to own major components of a complex, field-deployed system.

What We Are Looking For

  • AI Vehicle Planning & Prediction: You have 4+ years of demonstrated experience creating ML models for vehicle automation or vehicle intelligence applications (trajectory prediction, path planning, etc.).

  • Complex Architecture Engineering: Demonstrated ability to create, maintain, and iterate on complex software architectures.

  • AI-Accelerated Coder: Ability to write and evaluate high-quality code in C++ and Python using AI tools.

What You Will Do

  • Own Prediction & Planning Models: Take end-to-end ownership (training, validation, dataset curation, etc.) of the prediction and planning models powering our vehicle intelligence technologies.

  • Deploy & Field Test: Deploy and field test new software on our prototype vehicle and customer vehicles.

  • Build the ML Pipeline: Set up a robust and scalable data ingest, training, and validation pipeline that enables us to continuously and rapidly improve all of our AI models.

  • Deliver Superhuman Performance: Build models whose performance goes beyond what a human can do, directly preventing incidents a human could not.

  • Shape the Technical Roadmap: Independently identify performance bottlenecks across our software components and help prioritize our next technical features and improvements.

Bonus Points

  • 6+ years of demonstrated experience shipping ML models for automotive applications.

  • Master’s or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or similar, with a focus on implementing AI/ML/RL/DL in the physical world.

  • Hands-on experience with other parts of a robotics stack.

  • Previous experience at an early-stage startup (Pre-seed through Series B).

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and founding engineer equity package.

  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, and commuter.

  • Friday work from home.
